While working in the lab late one night, this party idea gave such a fright! The color palette for this Halloween party consists of deep black, metallic purple, pink and white. Guests will spot your party from afar when your porch is spilling over with a wall of colorful Halloween balloons and a DIY Champagne Wall. Free printable signs are edged with moss and read, "They Did The Mash". The door is draped in shredded black table covers for an especially eerie entrance.
Pick Your Poison
Halloween party goers love a friendly scare, and this unique Halloween porch delivers the fright factor AND a wow factor! Green boxwood mats were used to create the champagne wall display where pale skinned, creeptastic monster hands are mounted to hidden, sturdy supports.
Filled plastic champagne glasses were then placed into each monstrous hand. As your ghoul and guy friends enter your party, they can simply pluck a glass from the wall. Incorporating filled Halloween treat bags would be another fun way to repurpose this unique Halloween display! Get the free printable "Pick Your Poison" sign, and add some "graveyard moss" around the edges for an extra frightful effect.
Bewitching Entry Details
Arranged on the other side of the porch, a velvety witch hat was embellished with large flowers and a serpentine striped Halloween ribbon. Voluminous ostrich feathers were added, along with some black fringe trim, for a truly spellbinding look. To create an elevated stand for this creation, a wood flower box was sectioned off with masking tape then painted with black and pink craft paint and a pinch of glitter. Piles of balloons in pink and purple laid atop creepy cloth, and a chilling "Cheers" sign was painted in a bold shade of pink and placed in front.
Can you spy a creepy detail in the witch hat? "Eye" think party goers will jump when they find it!
Upon entering the party, guests saw our focal point; a Halloween balloon garland draped from one end of the room to another. The round dining table was draped with a shimmering purple tablecloth and a runner of black and silver starry gossamer. A painted cotton runner was also placed onto the table and was laid with a length of gauzy grey fabric. Layering color, pattern and texture is a beautiful way to achieve a luxurious, Halloween look. White chairs were set around the table, completing the chic Halloween look.
Don't Lose Your Head, Darlings
A leering jack-o'-lantern resembling the Headless Horseman made for a fitting party centerpiece. This unique Halloween centerpiece was creating using a pumpkin ground breaker decoration painted with pink and purple spray paint, then filled with starry gossamer, plumes of white faux pampas grass, ostrich feathers, black centerpiece sprays, and large blooms of pink and purple flowers. We displayed the pumpkin on a round box for height. A tall clear cylinder vase was filled with glittery black orbs and fluffy faux pampas plumes. Creepy monster eyeballs were displayed atop a purple vase and placed around the table and seemed to peer curiously around the room. Mercury glass votives were also scattered around the table.
Metallic Accents Dazzle
The rich colors of this elegant Halloween party are reflected in the place settings as well. Metallic purple hexagonal plates and matching dessert plates were set for each guest. Coffin trays with bright pink interiors were perfect for grabbing some appetizers, and conveniently housed a black napkin with a vampire teeth napkin ring. Premium black forks were concealed inside. Ornate black framed place cards were set out at each place setting. Rather than use guests' real names, a fun idea for Halloween is to use humorous Halloween puns like "Anita Shovel", or "Frank N. Stein". Skeleton arms are a cute take home item and add Halloween style to this well appointed table. Get the free printable "They Did the Mash" sign here then decorate a frame to display it!
