Drop on in and creep it cute this Halloween with an adorable spider themed party you'll love 8 legs...er...ways...to Sunday! We ditched the scary in favor of a sweet and playful take on the holiday for our intimate soiree that was full of more treats than tricks. Mixing pastels with chrome and black fashioned a fresh and modern color palette that had all our little guests tickled pink! But the creature feature of the night was definitely the frightfully fetching spider balloons we added to our DIY Modern Spider Balloon Backdrop! With trick-or-treating shaping up to look a bit different this year, read on to see how you can create an intimate gathering for your littles that's too cute to spook!
I am SO here for Halloween themes that bring about shrEEKs of joy rather than those of terror and that's exactly what our Modern Spider Themed Party brought about!
Halloween - But Make It Pretty!
Shades of pastel pink, lavender, purple, chrome, black and white punctuated our party space and was just the right amount of eye candy we needed to delight our senses this year.
Guests fell prey to the epic DIY Modern Spider Balloon Backdrop that looked as if it were constructed from cotton candy and spun across our back wall. The balloon spiders were whimsical enough that all our little guests were vying to be trapped! Large Plastic Spiderwebs were splatter painted with coordinating colors to keep the party feeling playful. GlueDots® effortlessly secured the webs to the wall.
Several spider web balloon clusters were created by forming small balloon arches using a mix of pastel pearl pink and lavender balloons, white and chrome silver balloons, which were then draped with Black Spider Webs for added dimension.
Each spider web balloon cluster was topped off with an adorbs spider created from black balloons. Their cute factor was taken up a notch thanks to the addition of Black Googly Eyes and a silver bow.
Continuing the creepy cute vibe, spiders, constructed from various small and medium foam balls painted black, hung from our balloon clusters with the aid of pretty pink and lavender baker's twine.

We carved out some gourd times by displaying black Spider Rings inside a lavender and pink painted DIY Pumpkin Terrarium that sat to one side of our dessert table! A double stack of painted DIY Ceramic Mini Pumpkins kept watch nearby.
A splatter painted Foam Pumpkin, with pretty in pink painted Spider Pumpkin Push-Ins creeping up her side, perched on a stool at the opposite end of our dessert table.
Spooky Cute Tablescape
We created a spookilicious tablescape by first topping our dining table with an apropos Black Lace Spiderweb Table Runner that creeped down the middle.
Next, a DIY Ceramic Skull was placed in the center of the table. She received a makeover with a bit of lavender and pink paint, a few spiders, Black Googly Eyes, and of course, a silver bow!
The skull was nestled between symmetrical sides of White Craft Pumpkins, Silvertone Taper Candle Holders, pink and lavender painted Jumbo Wind Up Spiders, Clear Glass Milk Bottles turned vases filled with black and white anemones and our DIY foam ball spiders, which rested fashionably in Purple Diamond Texture Candle Holders.
We couldn't resist splatter painting and adding Black Googly Eyes to the White Craft Pumpkins!
Trick or Treat - Smell My 8 Feet!
Mini spiders creeped and crawled all over our table and added to the whimsical feel of our party! We arranged enticing place settings by layering Spooktacular Spider Paper Dinner Plates atop Candy Pink Square Paper Dinner Plates for an added pop of color. Spooktacular Bat Cups held Pink Polka Dot Paper Straws and rested on Spooktacular Web Beverage Napkins.
Spooktacular Coffin Lunch Napkins sat to the side of our plates along with Premium Metallic Plastic Forks that were perked up with a swipe of pink paint.
Spin A Web of Sweets!
Our black antique dresser turned dessert table brimmed with a bevvy of yumminess! A Glass Jar Set sat in the center of our dresser and was filled with a mix of white, silver and lavender gumballs along with pink, white, lavender and black chocolate candies. White Candle Holders were used to vary the height of the jars, as well as the cute black and white pumpkin stack that sat beside them.
We spray painted Silver Three Arm Candelabra black to stand tall on the left side of our table next to another stack of painted DIY Ceramic Mini Pumpkins. Layered mini pink and lilac popcorn boxes were dressed up with a black spider and contained delish chocolate drizzled popcorn.
A fangtastic DIY Unfinished Wood Coffin Sign rounded out the decor of our dessert table and brought the eek factor! The sign was accented with painted wooden letters, mini spiders and a pretty pink painted Jumbo Wind Up Spider.
Cotton candy cupcakes were wrapped up with spiderweb cupcake wrappers and looked fab-boo-lous atop a lavender platter that rested upon a black cauldron.
We, of course, splatter painted the cauldron to tie in with the rest of our decor!
Once all the little ghouls and goblins had finished snacking on the sweets, we slid the dining table to the side to play Halloween games and take tons of selfies with our spook-tacular backdrop!
