The Candy Table and Balloon Backdrop
I love all things Disney which means I'm also a huge fan of Minnie Mouse. I also love backdrops that can pack a punch. To set the tone for this birthday party, I created a large Minnie Mouse Balloon Backdrop for behind the candy table. You can see my tutorial HERE. With the size of the backdrop, I wanted the backdrop to be the focal point. So, I decided to keep the tabletop decorations to a minimum for a bigger impact.
The lit "MINNIE" letters added the perfect detail and ambiance to the table. I added Minnie Mouse themed scrapbook paper to the Marquee Letters and added a splash of yellow with Yellow Candy in the Glass Jar Set to match Minnie's shoes. A girl can't forget the shoes, right?
The Party Table
I wanted to add a few stripes to Minnie's iconic polka dots so I topped the table with a Black and White Striped Table Runner. I also added matching throw pillows to the guest chairs.
I wanted the cake to have a stage of it's own. So, I placed the cute store bought Minnie Mouse Cake in the center of the party table for guests to admire. Isn't it darling? It was delicious too!
For the place-settings, I used Minnie Mouse themed scrapbook paper for place-mats and topped it with Black Plastic Dinner Plates. I made Minnie Mouse bows from Large Dot Beverage Napkins and attached them to the Yellow Cutlery with a Chenille Stem.
Of course, I think every party needs party favors. Party favors included fun Minnie Mouse Gloves and custom Minnie Mouse Ears. You can see the DIY Minnie Mouse Ears tutorial HERE. Not only are the gloves and ears great party favors that can be used time and time again, they also make fun photo booth props!
You can't have a Minnie Mouse Birthday Party without plenty of Minnie Mouse Ears and bows! I added a fun paper bow to the Minnie Mouse Ears my husband 3d printed for the marquee letters. I also added Chenille Stem Minnie Mouse heads (get the instructions at Creativities Galore) to Polka Dot Paper Straws and attached them to Black Paper Cups.
