Halloween is coming! It's my favorite holiday to host parties! I love how there are so many unique and cool themes you can come up where kids and adults can dress up and use their imaginations. Halloween doesn't have to be all dark and scary. In fact, I host a kid-friendly Halloween party for my kids every year and LOVE coming up with unique themes. This Midnight Fairy Halloween party is a twist on a traditional fairy party… These fairies celebrate after dark and use their pixie dust fairy wands to cast spooky spells! This is such a fun party full of activities and fun DIY Halloween decor. Set The Scene
To put a spooky spin on a traditional fairy party, use darker colors for fairy-themed items. Include items like black fairy wings, Halloween eyeball roses, black magic scratch wands and more! To set the scene, attach two butterfly wings onto a fabric rosette backdrop with heavy-duty double-sided tape. The effect is so cool! It looks like the butterflies are flying above the table!
Add these tie-dyed spiders to the decorations to add a fun neon pop of color to the dark backdrop of the party. Venus Flytraps and Halloween eyeball roses add spookiness while still being kid-friendly.
DIY Halloween Decorations
This Midnight Fairy theme allows for a wide range of creative possibilities when making your own party decorations like this DIY Midnight Fairy Sign that I used as the wow-factor of the craft and activity table. See how to make it HERE. How fabulous does this look? It was easy to make and the finished look is amazing. You could also use this sign on your front porch or stick it in your front yard to welcome your Midnight Fairy guests to the party.
Play Dress Up
Halloween is all about dressing up! This Midnight Fairy costume and Punk Skull Fairy costume were the inspiration for the party's theme and also inspired the party's color palette. My daughters had a blast dressing up in these costumes and adding cool accessories like this Halloween Ring & Bracelet Set.
Spooky Fairy Crafts & Party Activities
Keep your little Midnight Fairies busy with several fairy themed crafts. Anchor the party decorations with a wow-factor craft table that displays all the crafts. Place plenty of colorful Sharpie® markers out in mason jars topped with jeweled lids. This makes it easy for kids to pick up the jars and take it to the craft table to use them. Have your guests color their own bug and butterfly masks and flower magnets.
Your guests can also make their own charm bracelets by threading butterfly charms and fairy in the moon charms on black baker's twine or stretchy cording.
Add Animatronic Halloween Decorations
This animated crow in cage and animated owl were the perfect additions to this Midnight Fairy Party! They add a spooky look but also bring sound and movement too that your guests will just love! Both are sound and motion activated and run on batteries, so you can display them anywhere. They looked perfect on my Midnight Fairy craft table, don't you think?
Delightfully Frightening Dining Table Finish off your party by setting a spooky Halloween dining table with a glittery candelabra centerpiece.
Add a personalized touch to your table by making DIY Pixy Dust Fairy Wands for each guest. Place one on each place setting so your little fairies know where to sit. See how to make these DIY Pixy Dust Fairy Wands HERE.
Create a fully disposable place setting with black scalloped edge paper dessert plates, dinner plates, black premium plastic forks, plastic spoons and black and white striped napkins.
These plastic Halloween martini glasses also can be embellished with a jewel spider ring on each stem. Use a different color for each cup so guests can keep track of their plates.
Party Tip: Have your guests eat before they do crafts so you can clear the table of the dining items when they're done and use the same table as the craft table.
