You don't have to live in New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras! With a just a few crafting supplies and an assortment of candy you can create your own party decor for a simple celebration. I'm excited to share how you can celebrate Mardi Gras with a Candy Buffet Table in traditional Mardi Gras colors!
Party Backdrop
I always like to start the party decorations with a fun backdrop. Paper fans are a great way to fill a space behind the table. Not only are they easy to hang on a wall, you can configure them easily. I started with Green Paper Fans and Purple Paper Fans in various sizes and hung them up on a wall behind a small buffet table, alternating between colors. Next, I embellished a DIY Half Mask with glitter and Mardi Gras Beads and glued to the center of the fan for a focal point. Then I hung the Mardi Gras Banner in the center. See the step by step tutorial for the banner HERE.
Candy Buffet Table
Moving on to the decorations for the table, I covered the table with a Gold Pearl Table Runner and arranged a set of Mardi Gras Cones. See how to make your own set HERE. Next I filled Candy Jars with Mardi Gras Buttermints, coordinating Teddy Bear Gummy Candy and Gumballs. You can't have a Mardi Gras celebration without Masquerade Masks and Mardi Gras Beads! I set out a several beads and glitter masks on the table along with a festive Happy Mardi Gras Wreath. Make your own wreath for your door or party table by following the easy steps found HERE.
