Creating an inviting classroom environment starts with the decorations, bulletin boards, and organization. I like to hang student work around the room, but there are always bare spots around the room that are too small to display a class set of writing assignments but are too plain if left alone. I use these small, awkward spaces to create bulletin boards that can stay up the entire year! This creates less work for you AND it makes a beautiful display for your students. Here's a bulletin board idea that works for every season and can be added to as your year progresses.

The very first thing you'll want to do is find a space to put up your bulletin board. Measure out the amount of paper needed then trim it. I always use the Fadeless White Shiplap Bulletin Board Paper because it lasts for a long time and goes with so many different border combinations. Use bigger scissors to cut smooth lines. You can then staple the paper or use glue dots to attach it to the wall.

To add more dimension and details to your board, layer on the bulletin board borders! Try adding the Schoolgirl Style Wood Grain Border first then staple the Lattice Border on top. Finally, staple the scalloped Bold and Bright Swiss Dots Borders at the end to add a different texture.

To secure items to the wall, use a hot glue gun, some pushpins, and chalkboard place holder cards. The chalkboard finish is great because you can switch up their purpose or the names on the cards. Hot glue the pushpin to the back of the placeholder and let dry for about 20 minutes.

Add different pieces to your bulletin board to make it feel warm and welcoming. Label each board with the subject or theme using bold, black, punch out letters. Use fun paper tassles to add more interest to the top of the board. Finally, add some willow branches to bring it all together.

Find a fun or catchy message to bring your board to life. Use the same bulletin board letters and some eye-catching craft paper that has a different texture and cut out your desired saying. I chose to go with the phrase "Let's Grow" since it went along with my neutral, plant theme so well!

Add different anchor charts or student work to your boards. This is where you really get to make it your own! I used the chalkboard clips to fasten work to the walls so that changing out work was easy and I wouldn't damage my bulletin board paper. The clips can easily hold poster paper or cardstock.
