Celebrating a mommy-to-be and her pending bundle of joy is such a momentous and special occasion that should be celebrated to the fullest. This baby shower was styled using one of our favorite quotes as inspiration: "Love you to the Moon and Back". It is something we say almost daily to our own kids and knew it would serve as the perfect theme. With a gorgeous palette, blue watercolors, modern gold details and stars galore, this baby shower will have you over the moon!
The Table:
We set our round dining table with a clean, white table linen and then layered the Coastal Seaside Paper Table Runner on top of a wide piece of Blue Gossamer.
We wanted our place settings to have a modern yet whimsical feel. We achieved this by layering the Coastal Seaside Dessert and Dinner Plate atop a White Dinner Plate all set on a Gold Charger. A Coastal Seaside Dinner Napkin was set between the Charger and White Dinner Plate for a pop of that gorgeous blue watercolor.
A White Polyester Napkin was placed in a homemade napkin ring to top off the look. We simply cut down a Craft Roll, spray painted it gold and then added a gold painted and glittered DIY Wood Star.
Each place setting also included Gold Metallic Cutlery and a Clear Stemless Wine Glass with a gold painted Love You to the Moon Charm. These were simply added with a small dot of Hot Glue.
To complete the setting, we added in Blue Watercolor Votive Holders layered with a Personalized "Love you to the Moon and Back" Gold Star Votive Sticker. We added a bloom from the Faux Floral Stem and topped it with a gold painted and glittered DIY Wood Star.
The Details:
Our DIY Centerpiece was the focal point of the table and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out!
We added a coat of gold and gold glitter spray paint to a Small Round Glass Vase and then filled it with fresh hydrangea, a few Faux Floral Stems, some painted DIY Wood Stars and a crescent moon adhered to wooden skewers.
Rocket Ship Sand Art Bottles were painted and glittered to match the Vase and flanked either side of the floral arrangement.
We also painted and glittered a Gold Frame and added our Love you to the Moon and back free printable. We added a few Blue Watercolor Votive Stickers and DIY Wood Stars to the printable for an extra special detail.
The Dessert Bar:
When hosting an event, it's always important to have a variety of treats, and this baby shower is no exception! We put together this DIY Dessert Bar and Backdrop showcasing a variety of thematic sweets from our friends at Katie's Creative Baking. And trust us, they were just as delicious as they were adorable.
All of our sweets sat in front of a backdrop that turned out to be our favorite piece of decor! We took the Blue Watercolor Vinyl Backdrop and hung it horizontally so it would match the length of our table. We then painted the moon and a few stars from the moon and stars Glitter Camp Glam Moon and Stars Garland and hung them on the backdrop using sticky putty. We topped it all off by adding a gorgeous, Faux Eucalyptus Greenery Garland.
A blue ombré cake topped with moon and star cookies set on a White Ceramic Cake Stand was the focal point of our dessert bar.
We flanked the cake with two Love You to the Moon and Back Watercolor Panels painted to match the blue hues of the Coastal Seaside partyware.
Gorgeous, hand-painted cookies were displayed on miniature, white cake plates and set on either side of the cake.
We displayed chocolate cupcakes with blue ombré icing on gold painted Cupcake Stands and topped them with gold painted DIY Wood Stars mounted on bamboo skewers.
Mini Plastic Candy Containers were filled with vanilla yogurt and adorned with Inspiring Goldtone Love you to the Moon Charms.
Our homemade White Chocolate Moon Pies were displayed on White Serving Trays and full of marshmallow goodness.
We couldn't believe how simple these were to make and how quickly they were devoured by our guests!
