London Birthday Party

London Birthday Party

I’m so excited to share this London Birthday Party with you today! This party was particularly special for our family because it was for my sweet daughter whose name is actually London. She turned ten years old and we wanted to celebrate her in true Union Jack fashion! She invited a few of her favorite friends over and we had a party for the books which included a union jack flag cake, London soldier cookies, Homemade Shortbread and we made Clothespin Soldiers and Milk Box Phone Booths.

SETTING THE SCENE The first thing I did to get ready for the London Party was set the table. I laid Blue & White Striped Ribbon and Red & White Striped Ribbon on the table and then layered Be Royal Dessert Plates on top of the Red Square Dinner Plates around the table. On each place setting sat a My Passport Sticker Book for each guest as well as Royal Baby Shower Favor Boxes. I placed the Union Jack Flag Cake, which was blue velvet, in the center of the table and set out adorable London Soldier Cookies (both by Angie of Fancy Eats and Sweets) on either side of the cake. In the corner of the room, I stood up the Big Ben Clock Tower Cardboard Cut Out and hung Royal Baby Shower Balloon Sets. Next to the tower was a gold side table topped with homemade cupcakes and Royal Baby Shower Cupcake Picks. I set up the Color Your Own Castle Playhouse in the dining room and surround the castle with Royal Baby Shower Hanging Paper Lanterns. This was a HUGE hit. The girls loved coloring the castle and playing with the lanterns.   LONDON PARTY ACTIVITIES As kids entered the house, we handed them each a Passport Sticker Book with a pen. As they bopped from activity to activity, they received a sticker for each game/craft/location. The stations included: making London Soldier Clothespins, making Milk Carton Phone Booths, coloring the Color Your Own Castle Playhouse, visiting the Big Ben Clock Tower Cardboard Cut Out and eating Homemade Shortbread. LONDON PARTY TREATS We had so many yummy delectables at the London Birthday Party. Angie of Sweet Eats and Treats made the most delicious blue velvet Union Jack cake and cupcakes as well as the most adorable London soldier sugar cookies. I also made some signature shortbread and served the kids herbal tea. Make sure to check out all of my London Party blog posts including the recipe for Homemade Shortbread, how to make Milk Carton Phone Booths and the directions for Clothespin Soldiers.
