Little Lamb Easter Egg Hunt

Little Lamb Easter Egg Hunt

Hippity-Hoppity Easter is on it's way...but this year we are giving the Easter Bunny a much-needed break and letting this "woolly" cute flock of sheep shine with a Little Lamb Easter Egg Hunt party.

Little Lamb Easter Egg Hunt Party

One of the things I love about having kids are all the fun traditions and memories we get to make, especially during the holidays. Every year we plan an annual Easter Egg Hunt party where we invite friends and family to join us for a fun afternoon of treats and the time honored tradition of hunting for candy filled Easter eggs.

This year we created a new party theme centered around cute woolly lambs and a neutral color pallet with pops of pastels. I started by setting up a dessert table full of tasty treats for the kids to snack on after the egg hunt. When I think of a flock of lambs I imagine them grazing on lush green grass so I decided to incorporate that element into my decor with a large boxwood backdrop. I layered it with a hand painted burlap lamb banner and a soft vintage paper banner. The hand painted little lamb banner was super easy to make, I simply painted a white fluffy cloud like shape in the middle of the burlap triangle. Once that was dry I painted an oval shape in black at the front of the body and added two floppy ears. Then I added the legs and some white eyes to complete the look.

I covered the table with a white tablecloth and added an Easter tassel garland and DIY little lamb paper lanterns to the front of the table.

I used an old vintage box to add height to our table. It also held my DIY painted lamb popcorn boxes and pink candy bags, which the kids could fill with sweets to-go.

I used jumbo pastel colored Easter eggs to tie in the theme for our party and scattered them all over the table.

After searching for all those Easter eggs the kids will have worked up an appetite. I love having a fun and festive place for them to sit down and enjoy their treats. To make it extra special I created DIY little lamb place cards with each guest's name.

In addition to the cute little place cards at each place setting, I used chipwood baskets filled with Easter grass, Easter eggs and a plush little lamb. These are the perfect little party favor to send your guest home with.

On the table I used our "woolly" cute donut lamb pops as the centerpiece. I simply filled an unfinished wood planter box with some of the boxwood garland and then stuck the donut pops down in the center. I love being able to get double use out of party decorations and treats. These cute little treats were a big hit with the kids and it ended up being a fun and easy centerpiece combined with lots of colorful eggs.

This sweet little party is a fun way to celebrate Easter with family and friends, and I think the Easter Bunny will enjoy the much-needed break as these cute lambs steal the show.
