Students will practice saying, building, writing and using sight words in a sentence. Refer to grade appropriate sight word list.

Gather your materials. Print the worksheet templates and insert the worksheets into the sleeves. Have students create flashcards from their sight word list. Students will draw a card from the flashcard pile. Student's will practice reading/saying the sight word. Have the student clap out the sight word while saying it aloud. They can count the syllables in the word while sounding the word out as well as identify the letters in the word.
Next, have the student build the sight word. You can use foam or magnetic letters to complete this step.
After students build the sight word, they will use a dry erase marker to write the sight word.
Students will repeat steps 1-3 with their sight word flashcards. The second worksheet will have students build a sentence using the sentence domino set. Students will pick a sight word and use the word in a sentence. They can also practice writing the sentence with a dry erase marker.
Have students repeat the literacy center activities each week with new sight word or spelling lists. This literacy center activities are appropriate for kindergarten through fourth grade. Extra: After students have completed the first two activities, you can have them read short stories or I Can Read books that "feature" the sight words your class is learning.
