Celebrating with your best gals before your wedding doesn't have to be a formal and fancy affair. Bright and Modern Scene
Bold geometric shapes in bright colors in shades of pink and yellow with pops of white and black set the stage for this modern bridesmaids' luncheon. My vision for this party was that of a deconstructed glass of pink lemonade. Sometimes you have to think a bit outside the box when designing an event and I'm thrilled with the overall outcome of this party.
A DIY backdrop, which you can read more about in our DIY Adult Lemonade Bar post, served as a focal point for the party. It was so easy peasy to create and packed such a big punch that the rest of the decorations were kept a bit more on the simple side so it wasn't overshadowed.
Pink and yellow tulips displayed in a tall glass vase were so beautiful one would almost be fooled into believing they were real! The vase was wrapped with a strip of bright pink and black and white striped ribbon for added visual interest.
Fresh lemons and greenery were placed in Diamond Cut Pedestal Dishes, which were given a fresh coat of white spray paint. I love that they resemble milk glass and provide a bit of vintage juxtaposition against the party's modern vibes.
A black and white table runner graced the center of the table and white cutout dots candleholders, which were painted hot pink and yellow, rounded out the tablescape.
Place Settings with Zest
To bring a bit of whimsy to the luncheon, I added white vinyl to the centers of the yellow dessert plates, which loosely mimicked the seeds of a lemon. The yellow plates were then placed atop a candy pink dinner plate, with a black and white striped napkin in between. Layering the items adds to the overall aesthetic of the tablescape. Yellow forks and spoons were tied up with pretty bright pink ribbon.

Download the Free "Squeeze the Day" Printable here! To sweeten the deal, offer up lemon candies in small clear favor boxes. To further tie them in with the theme, I added a strip of black and white striped ribbon and topped them off with a lemon slice from the Lemonade Party Cupcake Wrappers and Picks. They looked adorable sitting next to each place setting!
Nothing will get your party started faster than a yummy lemon drop shot! I made sure to have one close at hand in case of emergency. They looked so enticing served in crushed yellow candy rimmed mini pedestal cups. The bases of the cups were painted to perfectly coordinate with the theme. For those not brave enough to down the shot as-is, cans of bubbly lemonade were at the ready to be mixed in silver rimmed plastic tumblers. Bright pink tassels dressed up the black and white striped paper straws.
The bride's spot at the table was delegated by the addition of a pink and black and white striped ribbon wrapped lemon, and she was kept cozy thanks to the addition of the lemon pillows in her chair.
As the party goes on, bring the fun to the table by replacing the vase of flowers with easy to reach Pink Lemonade Jello Shots! They looked so pretty and were hard to resist when served on a pink stripe painted long white platter.
Easy Breezy Lemon Squeezy Sweets & Sips
A pretty and playful pink and yellow ombré cake was topped with various lemon shapes from the Lemonade Party Cupcake Wrappers and Picks set. I simply removed them from their original picks and added them to longer bamboo skewers instead. Pink and yellow meringues and lemon candies were served alongside light and delicious gluten-free strawberry pink lemonade cookies from Say Anything Bakery.
Our DIY Adult Lemonade Bar was stacked with sweet lemon centric sips, and to up the easy breezy lemon squeezy factor they were premixed so the guests could enjoy the day fuss free! Adding printable drink signs in small frames helped guests know which libations would suit their fancy.
Sparkling lemonade mimosas were mixed in a wine carafe ready to be poured into wine glasses. To keep things playful a yellow rock candy lollipop was added to each glass.
Invite guests to "pimp their lemonade" by adding fresh fruit to their drinks. This way they almost seem like they're healthy for you! Speaking of fresh fruit, don't forget to click over to the recipe for the zesty and sweet Pink Lemonade Jello Shots.
Sparkling lemonade and pink lemonade were also offered as a non-alcoholic beverage option. They stood tall on a pink and white painted unfinished wood planter box.
