The Little Ladybug Birthday Party Decor
When I think of ladybugs, my mind automatically drifts to cute spots and dots, and we couldn't think of a better jumping point than that to run with for our decorations! The red polka dot balloons and black polka dot balloons, mixed with both light pink and white balloons mixed together to create the perfect backdrop for our party.
The garland was hung over our Free "Happy Birthday Little Lady" Printable Poster, which was taped to the wall using a bit of double sided tape on the back, and black polka dot washi tape for a touch of whimsy. Be sure to download the Free "Happy Birthday Little Lady" Printable 36x48 Poster here!
Instead of using a traditional tablecloth or runner, we lined our dining table with an artificial grass roll to bring the outdoors in for our little ladybugs. We love the pop of color it adds to the over look of the party.
Planting inexpensive red and pink flowers in square flower pots provided us with an inexpensive party table centerpiece that could be transported outdoors to our garden once the party ended. Definitely a win win!
The pots were painted with pink and red paint to coordinate with our Ladybug party theme and we loved the cheerfulness they brought to our table.
Our DIY Ladybug Party Favor Boxes were not only sweet little take-home gifts for our guests, but became part of our table decor when interspersed with our flower pots down the center of our table.
Setting the Little Ladybug Birthday Party Table
Our entire Ladybug First Birthday Party was designed around the cutest little ladybug dinner plates. Once we saw them, we knew they were destined to be the crowning jewels of our party! They really popped off the table with the help of our Free Ladybug Printable Placemats. Download the Free Ladybug Printable Placemats here! We rested a white premium plastic fork atop a black polka dot paper napkin to the left of the plate, and our embellished cups to the right.
We're obsessed with how the simple black paper cups were transformed to the cutest cups in town thanks to the addition of a few self-adhesive wooden ladybugs! A pink polka dot paper straw balanced out the color palette perfectly.
The Little Lady's Sweets & Sips Station
We started with an antique black dresser and piled it with sweets to create a delectable dessert table. Our Poke A Ladybug Party Game blended in seamlessly with the decor and sat on a chair to the left of our table.
A beverage dispenser was filled with strawberry lemonade and placed on the left of the dessert table. We love how the pink hue of the lemonade helped to balance out all the red in the space. Mini red popcorn boxes were filled with kettle corn and placed on either side of our Cherry Chip Cupcakes.
We dressed up the popcorn boxes by attaching cute little ladybug tags with Glue Dots®. The tags would also make for fun party favor tags! Download the Free Polka Dot Printable Favor Tags here!
Cute and delicious Cherry Chip Cupcakes, topped with little ladybug lollipops, sat atop a red cake plate in the center of our dessert table. We placed the cake stand upon one of our little ladybug placemats to help them stand out and break up the overall black color of the dresser.
A glass jar set sat on the right side of our dessert table and held a mix of red, white and black chocolates and little ladybugs sweet cream candies for guests to partake in either during the party, or to take home in black polka dot cellophane bags to savor for later!
The third jar was raised on a white candle holder and held black, white and red gum balls. Each of the jars was tied with a green ribbon and had a small flower attached for a whimsical touch.
As the party came to a close, we moved our dessert table to the side to allow more room for our little guests to play our Poke A Ladybug Party Game. Our party backdrop also doubled as an adorable photo op for our little birthday lady, her family and friends!
All the little guests giggled with delight as they punched the cups to reveal their treats and trinkets from the game. The mix of ladybug tattoos, little ladybug bubbles, glitter ladybug poppers, black polka dot buttermints and ladybug sweet creams were corralled in black polka dot cellophane bags.
