When it comes to celebrating Thanksgiving my kids love to have their own special table, uninterrupted by BORING adult talk, lol. This year I wanted to create a kids table full of color and fun activities to ensure that they have an even more memorable (and fully entertained!!) Thanksgiving.
I love tradition, but I really enjoyed mixing it up this year with cheerful rainbow colors. There is no better way to up the level of happy kid fun. I brightened up traditional autumn table accents such as wreaths, pumpkins, pine cones and a cornucopia with rainbow tones, coordinating these with tableware and decor in matching rainbow hues.

The Table
I used an extra large table for the kids' Thanksgiving table this year. I pushed two tables together which gave a lot more space for the kids to enjoy crafts and activities, as well as a delicious Thanksgiving dinner.
Down the center of the two tables I used strips of Painted Rainbow Paint Chip Border as a table runner. On top of the table runner I used a DIY Flower Box Centerpiece.
I spray painted the flower box bright white. Around the outside of the box, halfway down, I glued on another strip of Painted Rainbow Paint Chip Border.
Inside the box I placed large pine cones, Mini Pine Cones, acorns and pom-poms. I used White Tissue Paper Sheets inside of the box to give these height. First I spray painted the acorns and pine cones white. Then I used rainbow acrylic paint to paint the tips of the pine cones.
In front of the box I placed a Mini Diamond Cut Plastic Pedestal Dish sprayed white and filled with pom-poms and a pencil holder full of rainbow pencils and Transparent Glitter Stacking Point Crayons.
I also spray painted a Foam Orange Pumpkin white and decorated it with brads painted in rainbow colors.
Lastly I added a Pine Cone Votive Holder painted white with a dip of orange paint at the bottom.
Place Settings
Each place setting was set with different color of the rainbow - blue, green, yellow, pink, purple and orange.
I started each setting with a Cool Craft Tray. The kids can use this to catch the crumbs or craft up a storm!
On top of the trays I placed a White Round Dinner Plate with a dessert plate in the color that matched the tray on top. Next to the plates I used a coordinating napkin, plastic glass and Premium Metallic Silver Cutlery.
On top of the setting I used a DIY Ceramic Mini Pumpkin as a place card. I painted each one white and glued on color coordinated Tiny Pom-Poms. I placed a name card under each pumpkin. I used a color matched Paint Chip Supply Strip with the kids names spelled out with white alphabet stickers.
Beside each place setting I placed a clipboard with 4 pages of printable activity sheets. Download your free activity sheet printables here.
Then at the top of the setting I placed a box filled of fun Thanksgiving activities. Find out how to create your own here.
For an extra touch of whimsy...and to facilitate balloon games later on in the day, I tied a two-tone balloon to each box.
The Backdrop
It doesn't feel like Thanksgiving to me without a wreath. Rather than place the wreath on our plain walls I couldn't help myself, I had to add more color! I hung a role of rainbow wrapping paper up on the wall before hanging the wreath.
I then cut out leaves and acorns out of the Paint Chip Supply Strips. Download the free Printable here.
Use Clear Glue Dots® to layer the shapes onto a Medium White Foam Wreath.
In front of the backdrop I placed a small table with a rainbow wicker Cornucopia of party time! I filled the cornucopia with fun crepe paper streamers.
Finally, I added a second brad studded pumpkin and paint dipped pine cone votive holder.
Time to eat turkey and get creative under the rainbow!
