Racers, start your engines and zoom on over for some high-speed birthday fun! Grab a Pit Pass and join the crew! This Kids Race Car Birthday Party is full of so many high-octane ideas including a DIY Race Track Cake Stand and a fun themed Sugar Rush Raceway game and a printable pack guaranteed to kick your party into high gear!
Rev up and roll out! When I was first envisioning this race car birthday party I knew I wanted it to be black and white, symbolic of the checkered flags used at every race track, with pops of bright yellow and red. I also wanted to add unique custom elements throughout. From the personalized pit passes to the donut "spare tires" and "fueling (drink) station" this party is full throttle fun.
Race on over for some high octane fun!
I first started by designing the invitation for this race car party. I wanted the design to resemble a ticket. I loved the idea of all the little racer party guests receiving the ticket invitation before the party, and it being their "admission" to the celebration. Fun themed invitations really add excitement and anticipation for the party ahead.
Grab a Pit Pass and join the crew!
As each party guest arrived they were invited to grab a Pit Pass and join the crew! The sign and personalized pit passes are a part of the full Race Car Printable Pack. Each Pit Pass is sized to fit perfectly into Passport Lanyards. I also added a Black Nylon Lanyard strap to match the colors of the party. The Pit Pass printable is editable in Adobe Reader so you can customize it to add each little racer's name. These pit passes can be found in our Free Race Car Party Printable Pack!
Don't forget to fuel up!
Every racer needs a lot of fuel and every birthday party needs lots of sweet treats! At our race car party we had a full "Fueling Station" with lemonade and bottles of "coolant" water as well as chocolate donut "spare tires", popcorn in Fuel Can Popcorn Boxes and delicious cupcakes. I designed custom toppers for the cupcakes that matched the theme. Also, to display the cupcakes, I made a DIY Race Track Cake Stand. I love how this DIY turned out. It was such a fun added detail to the party.
As soon as I saw these adorable tire Race Car Dessert Plates, Start Your Engines Race Car Napkins and Trophy Cups, I instantly fell in love with them all. I also cut a long strip of black paper and added white dashed lines to create a road table runner. Then, I added Die Cast Race Cars to complete the look.
Sugar Rush Raceway Gumball Race Track Game
A fun activity at our race car party was the Sugar Rush Raceway. This DIY race track made out of pool noodles raced machine-sized gumballs on 8 different tracks. The little racers had an absolute blast with this game! When they weren't racing, they could easily grab a Checkered Flag Sucker from the track and cheer on the other racers too! Appropriately named, this game was definitely a sweet victory!
Thanks for racing by to join the crew!
All of our racers went home with goodie boxes and donut tires for the road! The Black Favor Boxes were filled with Checkered Pencils with Tire Toppers, Race Car Notepads, Winner Trophies, Small Checkered Flags and Die Cast Cars. I also created a fun race car treat bag topper designed to fit small chocolate donut tires. This printable, as well as the thank you favor tag, are available for free as a part of the full race car printable pack.
