Kids' Thanksgiving Table
Our colorful Thanksgiving table was decorated in warm fall colors. My favorite part of the table was the tall Thanksgiving nutcracker pilgrim that stood watch over the table with a little pumpkin in his hand! Running down the center of the table were gorgeous velvet pumpkins along with a few pinecones scattered down the center of the table.
The darling checkered gingham tablecloth matched the kids activity table behind it. Kraft paper scalloped place mats were doubled and stacked, then turned the opposite way so that they made two place settings. This was a fun way to mix up the table and added more kids and place settings to our table.
Fun turkey plates brought smiles to our kids' faces. Peeking out from under each turkey were yellow dinner napkins and brown utensils. Kids loved drinking out of their sweet pumpkin cups with straws. Aren't they the cutest?! All of the disposable paper goods looked amazing on the table and made for a really easy clean up!
Kids' Thanksgiving Activity Table
One of the coolest parts of the kids' area was our giant thankful tree.
As kids arrived for the Thanksgiving feast, they took a handful of blank fall leaves off the wall and a black Sharpie. They then wrote down one thing that they were grateful for on each leaf then put it back up on the tree.
The end result was a colorful Thanksgiving tree that showcased everything the kids were grateful for!
Some of the kids' answers were predicable (like mom, dad, shelter, water, food...) while others were quite funny (komodo dragons, Sprite, Jurassic World...). There were 100 leaves in the package so I taped more leaves around the tree to fill up our whole wall. Would you believe I still had lots of leftover leaves from just that one pack?!
On the trunk of the tree I hung a chalkboard style Thanksgiving sign that said "Happy Thanksgiving."
Decorating the left side of the table was a giant honeycomb pumpkin that was set next to a smaller honeycomb pumpkin. Three decorative fall swags were placed along the back of the table and were adorned with pretty fall leaves and berries.
A lamb's ear garland looked perfect running along the front edge of the table, especially when paired with more velvet pumpkins and a pretty sunflower. On the right side of the table were some fun activities to keep the kids busy while the adults put the finishing touches on Thanksgiving dinner.
I filled a wood bowl with small tote bags, adhesive glitter leaves and glitter letters for the kids to decorate their own mini fall tote bags. This was an easy craft for the kids to do that didn't require help from the adults! A bamboo basket held fall coloring books as well as full sheets of Thanksgiving stickers. A large pack of crayons was split into a few different pilgrim hat cups for the kids to take to their table and color with.
More pilgrim cups, complete with shiny gold buckles, were placed on a white scalloped cake plate and filled with a tasty fall snack mix. The snack mix consisted of popcorn, nuts, pretzels, and caramel apple chewy candies. There were also fall leaf-shaped lollipops and caramel apple suckers for the kids to try.
Turkey Thanksgiving favor boxes were filled with treats as well and match the turkey plates perfectly! I hope our kids' Thanksgiving table inspired you to create your own space this Thanksgiving just for the kiddos! With fun place settings, snacks, and activities, it's a great way to treat the kids and let them feel special.
