BAM! This superhero playdate was a huge hit! Superheroes are all the rage at my house full of boys! Not going to lie, my daughter and I love them as well. It might have more to do with the actors that play them in the movies than the fighting and powers, but still! Everyone wants to feel powerful and it’s fun to pretend that you can fly over buildings or zap your enemies with your laser vision! That’s why I loved planning this fun superhero playdate using so many fun superhero themed products! I loved all the bright colors and fun details of this playdate, and my boys think I’m the absolute coolest mom to let them have friends over to play with all of this fun stuff! Just checkout all of the fun things to choose from!
Setting up the table for this playdate was super fun and easy, anyone can quickly recreate it! The jumbo superhero word cutouts were perfect for the backdrop, and went up with just some sticky tape on the back of them. This is really Inexpensive and really popped on the white wall! The cutouts came with 6 different words, so if you have a bigger space, or more places to decorate then you're covered! Then I just set out all the fun things we would be doing on the table and floor for when all the kids got there to play.
I put out the cups and straws for the radioactive root beer floats that we enjoyed at the end of the playdate. The kids all got to play with some fun radioactive spider slime when they got there and then I got to send it home with them when they left.
I got a personalized superhero cape & mask for each kid, I only personalized the ones for my littlest guy and my niece and nephew. I wasn't sure if the big kids would love them as much. Wrong! These are so cute, and after I got them I realized that all of my kids are being superheroes for Halloween! I was seriously impressed with the quality, especially for the price! WOW! They are reversible, so the girls' capes are pink and purple and the boys' capes are red and blue. The masks are reversible too and are just too cute!
On the back of the table I put some of these cool building bricks along the back and then let the kids play with them for a bit. Building cities that they could jump over in a single bound.
I also just put out some toys to play with and take home like these action-packed superhero kick balls and these create your own comic books. The comic books were a big hit with my older kids, and they had so much fun writing and illustrating stories for their younger siblings to read.
My 10 year old wrote one all about his 8 year old super brother, and it makes my little guy so happy to read it. I love that!
These superhero happy hoppers were the hit of the playdate though!
We set up a race course outside for them using the color traffic cones and had them all wear their capes.
And they're off! Bouncing and falling off and getting back on and bouncing again, we were seriously laughing so hard.
My little Oliver made this epic fall look even more epic with his superhero cape. No worries, he was laughing the whole time, no one was hurt during the races!
Our little girl friend Macey won the first race, so of course Oliver demanded a rematch!
This time he won, flying through the finish line made out of this cute superhero party tape.
The boys had several more races on them, and haven't stopped talking about how fun it was.
These superhero rubber ducks were just too cute to resist, so I had to grab them!
We played a fun game with them outside, having them fly back and forth and trying to catch them with these bug nets. They have also made an appearance in every bath time since.
The super villain can bean bag toss was another fun game we played.
I love having games like this at our playdates so that the kids can just play and not need any direction. That way the moms can sit and talk and the kids can just be kids! Overall, the playdate couldn't have been a bigger success! It all came together really easy and the kids had so much fun! My kids want to make it a monthly thing now, ha! I don't know about that, but I do know more hopper races are in our future!
I hope this inspires you to have your own superhero playdate! Be sure to check out the DIY's for this play date! Radioactive Root Beer Floats and Radioactive Spider Slime!
