Assuming Jay-Z’s private plane isn’t available and within your budget, we’ve gathered a few easier ideas to make your getaway car shine. Decorating the “just married” getaway car is a task often relegated to the groomsmen to take care of in the parking lot while the bridesmaids are finishing getting ready for the ceremony; or, during the wedding reception when everyone else is dancing the night away. Regardless of when, and if, you decide to decorate a getaway car – here are a few ideas to make it fabulous and fresh. Sorry guys – beer cans and Barbasol are out, but we know you can make these ideas look great!
1. If the bride and groom are using a limo or sedan service, they may or may not allow exterior decorations. If simple decorations are allowed, consider party streamers in colors to match the wedding theme. Simple, easy and whimsical - everything a good getaway car needs.
2. If your couple‘s perfect getaway car is more country than rock and rock, stop the hunt. Create a country getaway car by adding this Just Married Pennant Banner to the back of their favorite 4-wheel drive. This banner could be used on just about any getaway car! Consider adding greenery like this Ivy Garland and wedding flowers in and around the license plate and windows, being careful not to obstruct the driver’s view. Even just a plain Silver Tassel Garland would work for the back of the car.
3. Fill ’er up... with helium or air-filled latex balloons! Greet the newly wedded couple with a car full of helium-filled balloons. As they drive away, they will leave a trail of wedding colors floating above them. These Mr. and Mrs. Mylar Balloons would be perfect for this idea. As long as you make a smaller version, this DIY Balloon Garland with eucalyptus would be amazing for the back of your getaway car. Another fun option is the Silver Just Married Mylar Balloon Banner. Floating this behind an antenna or behind the getaway car would be kinda like flying away in a private jet. Well, sorta...
4. Tissue paper and tulle pop pom decorations are not just for proms and indoor wedding décor. Deck out the back end of the getaway car with these flirty and fun wedding decorations for an easy and inexpensive way to celebrate the nuptials on the way out of or around town! Add a White Tulle Garland for classic wedding flair.
5. Wedding flowers and wreaths add a pretty pop of color. If you are looking for a classic look, this Red Rose Heart Wreath would be the perfect touch! You could also use this Vickerman Green Fern Wreath and these coral magnolias. Wrap ribbons around the back fender for an extra touch of elegance.
This wedding is really rolling now! Wedding favors, ironing out ceremony details and creating a wedding candy buffet are a few of the fun items coming up next on your "to do" list with just four months until your wedding!
