Take a bite out of fun with this JAWESOME Shark Birthday Party! This adorable shark birthday party is the perfect theme for a summer soirée! The bold blue and green color palette and adorable ocean-inspired decor will have you swimming with excitement! From the coordinating shark cups, plates and favor boxes, to the simple shark cupcakes and bubble favors, this super shark party has us circling back for more, so jump on in!
The Table:
To create an ocean-inspired feel, we layered the table with a white linen table cloth topped with an ocean themed table runner. Packed with silhouettes of sharks and schools of fish, this table runner was the ideal addition to the table.
To incorporate even more shark-inspired fun, each place setting was set with adorable shark dinner plates topped with shark dessert plates that are actually shaped like our favorite ocean creature!
All of the blue and turquoise shades in this party tableware truly brings the ocean to you!
We especially love the metallic detailing on the dinner and dessert plates as well as the shark themed napkins.
To the right of each place setting was a shark cup with straw, perfect for your own little shark to sip on!
To the left of each setting was a green and blue double layered popcorn box, brimming with yummy treats. By layering the popcorn boxes we were able to incorporate a hint of green, which helped to break up all of the blue tones on the table.
Each sweetened popcorn box was topped with a mix of delicious blue and green candies. These colors not only tied into the party color palette, but also added a bright pop of color to the popcorn.
To the side of each place setting sat light blue cutlery on layers of green, blue and jawsome shark themed napkins.
The Centerpiece:
We wanted to create a weathered wood look for our shark bait centerpiece. To achieve this look, wooden crates were enhanced with white and blue paint. Natural colored fish net was them trimmed to the perfect size and layered over each wooden crate.
We replicated the weather wood look on a simple signage frame. We used our shark bait sign to tell our guests to grab a "shark bait cupcake"!
Each cupcake was wrapped in coordinating blue and green wrappers, blue ocean wave icing and, of course, a yummy shark lollipop to take our cupcakes to the next level!
The Backdrop and Buffet:
To keep our backdrop simple we created a small balloon garland using dark blue, light blue, green and white balloons. This is an inexpensive way to bring in all of the colors in the party color palette and add a touch of whimsy.
To the side of our balloon decor was a ferocious shark cut out bursting out of the water! This oversized shark cut out was the perfect way to finish off our dessert table.
In the center of the buffet table we set up a white cake stand to display extra drinks in adorable shark cups.
Blue favor boxes were adorned with darling metallic shark cut outs and made it super easy for guests to take home favors and extra sweets.
On each end of the buffet sat more weathered wooden crates layered in natural colored fish net. We created this look using the same quick and easy technique we used on the centerpiece crates.
Atop each wooden crate sat shark themed bubbles for guests to play with and take home after the party.
Even the bubble wands had miniature sharks on them!
A shark shaped happy birthday garland was strung across the front of the buffet.
Lastly, we made sure to include extra metallic shark themed plates and shark themed cups on our buffet for extra sweets, treats and food!
A striped blue paper straw was the finishing touch for these adorable shark cups.
