St. Patrick’s Day is a great time to do creative writing in the classroom. Students love the imagination that comes along with little leprechauns, rainbows, and gold. Be sure to download the free Writing Activity Prompt here!
Step 1: Set up a photo booth using the Irish Clover Backdrop and St. Patrick's Day Costume Photo Stick Props. Have students pick their favorite photo stick props and take individual pictures. Step 2: Insert students' pictures into a Bright Picture Frame. Have students decorate the frame using the Fabulous Self-Adhesive Shamrock shapes. Students can add as many or as little as they'd like! I kept it very simple.
Step 3: Using the St. Patrick's Day word bank and If I was Leprechaun Writing Sheet, have students create a short story. Download the sheet for free here. I used the Neon Paper Pack to add color to each of the printable sheets.
Step 4: Attach the writing sheet and frame to a piece of black construction paper. And now the project is ready to be displayed!
At the end of March, send home the activity for parents as a keepsake. The picture frames come with a built-in stand that can be used if the parent choses.
