My inner 80’s child was so happy when my 6 year old asked for a rainbow unicorn birthday party. Honestly, I am not sure who was more excited!
The Food Planning the menu together was a blast. She wanted as many rainbow foods as we could think of. We might have gone a little overboard on the food, but it was so much fun and there was barely anything left by the end of the party. The food from this party would also be perfect for St. Patrick's Day, a rainbow party, a color run or anytime that you want a big burst of color that is pretty, healthy and delicious.
Together we decided upon a menu. I wanted to introduce my daughter to a party punch that I grew up with as a child. We decided to call it Unicorn Rainbow Party Punch. Keeping with the rainbow food theme, we had rainbow fruit skewers with fluffy cloud dip, rainbow veggies, Flavored rainbow marshmallows, rainbow cupcakes and rainbow goldfish. The non-rainbow items were unicorn finger sandwiches and blue sky spritzer.
The Favors For the treat bags and party punch we had fun using Unicorn Stickers as added decoration. The Milk bottles had Paper Straws and strips of paper from the Pattern Paper Pack that were secured with Unicorn Stickers. We used the same sheet of stickers to close the Gift Bags and the kids stuck the leftovers on themselves.
Fun-Filled Activities For the activities during the party, we tossed hula hoops over traffic cones, had unicorn races wearing unicorn horns and tails tied on with Rainbow Ribbon. The kids hopped through the hula hoops and had to make a different unicorn sound for each hoop they hopped through. I really wish I would have made a video. They were hysterical with laughter. They adhered the foam balls to make their own rainbows, made Pony Bead Rainbow Bracelets and the last activity is one that we could not have a party without - Sand Art Stars and Sand. I'm not sure what it is with kids and colored sand, but they love it. The party girl's almost 14-year-old brother was out there making one for himself too.
The Decorations Being nostalgic and keeping with the old school feel of the party we decorated with streamers, confetti and balloons. They were all included Unicorn Party Supplies Pack. We added a few more Streamer colors to make a rainbow backdrop on our garage door. Added a Rainbow Party Fringe Table Skirt to the food table and Unicorn Center Piece to the table where the kids ate. We accented the decorations with fake grass and served the food on wood slabs because according to my now 6 year old that is how unicorns would serve party food.
