There is no way better to spread holiday cheer than to do a Random Act of Kindness for your hardworking staff. At this point in the year, everyone is ready for a little break from all the testing, report cards, conferences, grading etc. The home stretch before winter break can seem like a small eternity, so when I saw the new buffalo plaid line from Oriental Trading, I immediately decided to give our teachers' lounge a little holiday TLC. I think this might be just the thing to brighten my co-workers' days before winter break!
The first thing I did was cover all the tables in lounge with this Buffalo Plaid Table Cloth Roll. It set the tone straight away. I added these Chalkboard-Style Place Cards with the American Crafts Permanent Chalk Markers to the centers of the tables so that each staff member could write small positives about our school. I felt like this was a great way to reflect on the past few months and boost morale. After writing these notes teachers would add them to the "Smiling is my Favorite" bulletin board.
This Fadeless® Weathered Wood Paper Roll was the perfect backdrop to go along with the Buffalo Plaid Pennant and the Holiday Handicraft Pom-Pom Garland.
I set up a little snack table with a simple craft that could easily be done in five minutes or less. Using these DIY Unfinished Wood Tree Ornaments along with some Nordic and Green Washi Tape the staff can easily decorate a little festive ornament in five minutes or less, which is perfect for a teacher on the go! I loved sprucing this table up with the 3D Buffalo Plaid Tree Centerpieces and a Little Tabletop Christmas Tree. Adding these adorably cozy Holiday Buffalo Plaid Throw Pillows made the teachers' lounge feel more homey and comfortable.
I am obsessed with this Buffalo Plaid Chalkboard Sign. The bonus is that it was so easy to personalize with a Marvey® Fine Point White Bistro Chalk Marker .
One of my favorite things to do during this time of the year is to send and receive holiday cards. I thought it would be neat to have a place where teachers could hang their own holiday cards to spread the holiday cheer.
Creating this bulletin board was so easy. It only took 10 minutes! I hung up some Christmas Baker's Twine with pushpins and added the same Nordic and Green Washi Tape to some clothespins to make it look even more festive. It is so fun seeing all the pictures decorate the walls. It really gives this room a sense of community!
Last, but not least. I couldn't help but order these adorable Buffalo Plaid Photo Stick Props and create a super quick and easy photo booth with this Buffalo Plaid Backdrop Banner.
Hearing the giggles and seeing the goofiness come out of the staff was such a great way to connect during the most wonderful time of the year. Redecorating the teachers' lounge didn't take too long and it was priceless to watch everyone smile a little brighter because of it. I hope you can bring some smiles to your own staff room this year!
