Birthdays in the classroom are such a fun day for ALL of the students to celebrate. They get super excited when it is their special day and everyone else gets excited for them too! Here is a fun way to give everyone a turn to be a rock star for the day! Being a rock star for the day is simple with the help of a couple of these items. The best part is when the birthday star enters the classroom and sees their desk decorated for their special day.
These glasses are perfect because they can wear them to stand out from the crowd at recess, and let's face it, they look adorable on the kids!
The students are SO EXCITED to get their blowup guitar! They wait patiently all year to have their turn at being the "rock star" for the day!
This is how their desk is decorated in the morning when they walk into the classroom!!! Some students have summer or weekend birthdays and their birthday dosn't fall on a school day. If their birthday is on the weekend during the school year, I normally celebrate their birthday on the Friday before. It is a great way to send them off to celebrate their birthday weekend. If they have a summer birthday I do two different things depending on how many students are in that category. I either celebrate their half birthday in the middle of the year, or I pick a day at the end of the year and we celebrate them then! This way everyone has a turn for the rock star limelight!
