Black and White Halloween Skeleton Party

Black and White Halloween Skeleton Party

Halloween is fast approaching and if you are anything like me, you are already planning out how you'll transform your home for Halloween. Each year I decorate my dining room in a different spooky theme in preparation for Halloween dinner parties. Skeletons seem to always have a seat at my dining tablescapes as they are my favorite to decorate with! My personal favorite are the life size posable skeletons. Here's a sneak peek into what my dining room will look like while I'm hosting Halloween dinner parties this spooky season!

Set The Scene

If your dining table is set right up against a wall, incorporate the wall into your decor by hanging various elements from it. Creepy cloth will instantly transform any space into a spooky scene! It's super easy to work with and easily attaches to your walls with mini removable wall hooks. Drape different pieces of cloth in various layers to give your walls some dimension.

Skeleton Decorations

One of my favorite parts of decorating my Halloween dining table for the season is sitting life size posable skeletons at the dining table! Everyone comments on them all season long. Sit them upright in a chair at the dining table like they are invited dinner guests! For an added touch, pose their arms to make it look like they are actually enjoying a glass of spooky cider or getting ready to dig in to a goulish meal! Your guests will love seeing this spooky skeleton couple dining at the table on Halloween night!

Black and White Halloween Party Table Setting

For this party set-up, avoid the temptation of adding "pops" of color to the tablescape. Start by covering your table with this black & white triangle plastic tablecloth then create each place setting by placing a web placemat in front of each chair. Layer a black geometric dinner plate with a black terrazzo dessert plate to really make your place settings pop. Layering looks amazing when you use different patterns!

Continue with the layered look and set black and white napkins in two different patterns on top of each other. The tutti frutti black & white luncheon napkins look awesome paired with black terrazzo luncheon napkins. Top those with black premium forks and black premium spoons that you can embellish with glitter skull charms. Attach charms to the cutlery with mini glue dots.

Finish out the place setting with black patterned plastic wine glasses! The great thing about this entire place setting is that the whole thing (besides the placemat) is disposable which makes cleanup after your dinner party a breeze. This is a key factor for a busy mom like me!

Skeleton Decorations

Can we just take a second to admire the spookiness of this huge light-up creepy tree Halloween decoration? It made the perfect centerpiece for my black and white table!

To make it match the skeleton theme, drape a piece of creepy cloth all around the bottom of the vase and stick skeleton hand groundbreaker Halloween decorations down into the base of the tree centerpiece. Scatter ceramic bones around each side of the tree to complete the look. The tree also lights up with three AA batteries which looks amazing at night and adds an eerie glow to your table.

Decorate the rest of the table with skulls from the bag of skulls. Place one skull on top of a black candleholder and group them in pairs with the skeleton gothic snow globe. To create a balanced look, do this on each side of the table.

Finish the look by filling two hinged glass coffins with mini skulls and placing them next to the skull pedestal centerpieces on each side of the table.
