Whether you're planning a family movie night or a get-together for the tweens that don't want to go trick-or-treating, this Frightfully Fun Halloween Movie night is sure to be a bone-a-fide hit! Complete with a tricked out Haunted Ticket Booth, a Movie Trivia Game and Halloween Snack Trays this party has and lots of comfy seating so guests can settle in for a night of spine-chilling fun.

Now that my daughter is in middle school she isn't so sure about going trick-or-treating, but she still wants to have a night of fun with friends. To fix this dilemma we decided to plan a Halloween-themed movie night! This is a fun way to let the kids overindulge in candy and treats without having to dress up and go door to door trick-or-treating.

I wanted this party to feel extra special so we created a DIY Haunted Ticket Booth where everyone could grab their ticket for the show. Before they enter the party they can tempt their fate at the Halloween Haunted Fate Spinner Game. No matter their age this carnival game is always a hit with kids. This specific game provides plenty of laughs too!

Now that everyone has their tickets it's time for the main attraction, a rotten candy concession stand! Last year I created a Rotten Candy Stand for my Carnival themed Trunk-or-Treat and it was a huge hit! I knew that we couldn't have a movie night without lots of popcorn and candy so this concession stand with a creepy twist was perfect.

I had an old marquee movie sign leftover from my daughter's movie-themed birthday party so I decided to transform it into a Halloween concession stand sign. I used a piece of black foam board and my Cricut to create the vinyl Rotten Candy Concession sign. I took the marquee lights that I used in this Casino party to add lights to this concession stand sign.
I used the Basic Boo Hanging Fans and Deluxe Creepy Cloth to create a colorful and frightfully fun backdrop for the concession stand.

Once the decorations were in place it was time to start stocking the concession stand. I filled glass apothecary jars with a variety of "rotten" candy for our movie party including Realistic Gummy Earthworms and Halloween Body Parts Candy. In addition to all the fun Halloween candy, I also had traditional movie theater candy boxes for everyone to choose from.

You can't have a movie party without hot and fresh movie popcorn! And we had lots of it thanks to our Two-Headed Skeleton friends who were expertly manning the popcorn stand.

I made DIY Rotten Candy Snack Trays for the kids to easily carry all of their Halloween movie goodies. These fun little snack trays were simple to make and look spooktacular filled with all of the creepy-crawly candy!

If it's easier to have kids eat at a dining table before the movie starts, set a table with a Black and White Striped Plastic Tablecloth, Basic Boo Paper Dinner Plates, Black Square Dinner Plate, Basic Boo Centerpieces, Black Wine Glasses and Hanging Honeycomb Spiders. This also makes post-party clean-up a breeze!
Either before or after the movie starts test everyone's Halloween movie knowledge with the free Halloween Movie Trivia Printable Game. Get the full details for this fun party game here.

Another way to keep the kids entertained is to have a Halloween themed photo booth with the fun Basic Boo Photo Props. Rather than setting up an entirely different area for the photo booth, I let the kids snap selfies at the Rotten Candy Concession Stand, which made a colorful and fun backdrop.

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and while I'm a little sad that our trick-or-treating days might be behind us, I am definitely excited about planning and hosting an annual Halloween Movie Night.
