Put on your boogie shoes and hustle on over to celebrate your teen with this groovy birthday celebration! This Retro Teen Party is full of flower power and hippie trends your teen will love.
This Groovy Teen Birthday Party is the perfect way to celebrate your teen and all her boho, flower power dreams.
Bellbottom pants, flower power, retro roller skates, and peace signs are all the rage with teens right now, so what better way to celebrate a birthday than with a 70s-inspired groovy party! My daughter and her friends had the best time dressing up, having a chic boho dinner, and taking photos in the retro VW Photo Bus to celebrate a milestone birthday.
I had so much fun creating the party of her dreams and enjoyed watching the girls embrace their inner hippie while taking a million photos to commemorate the night. I'm so excited to share all the party details and products I used to create this fabulous party.
Teenagers can be hard to please when it comes to birthday parties, but I've found the key is having an activity for them to enjoy. That's where the retro VW bus comes in. I hired The Photo Bus for the girls to take photos in and it was a huge hit! Not only did it make the perfect backdrop for our party, but they also loved getting in the bus to take lots of silly photos.
I created a balloon garland using the Boho Rainbow Latex Balloon Garland and a variety of peach and pink balloons. I attached the garland to the Small Backdrop Frame and placed it in front of the Photo Bus for another fun photo op. I added the Boho Rainbow Garland with Tassels to tie it all together.
There was a small table set up outside of the bus with hand sanitizer and I added a vase of daisies in a Boho macrame vase, along with Daisy Flower Crowns for the girls to wear.
A low table and an eclectic grouping of rugs and pillows made the perfect spot for the girls to sit and enjoy dinner in between taking pictures.
The stars of this groovy place setting were the Boho Rainbow party supplies. I used the Natural Woven Placemats and layered white dinner plates with pink plates and Boho Rainbow Dessert Plates. The Boho Rainbow Napkins were combined with gold utensils to complete each place setting. And, Boho Rainbow Cups looked super groovy with Disco Ball stir sticks.
The table decorations were kept fairly simple with a Boho macrame table runner, layered with yellow gauze table runners. I added a string of wooden beads down the length of the table and then add a bit of pizzaz with disco ball floral arrangements, and candles in Gold Taper Candle Holders.
While the girls waited for their turn in the photo bus I had a "Create Your Own Disco Succulent" station. I filled a glass jar with soil and had a variety of succulents that the girls could pick from. They each grabbed a disco ball cup, filled with soil and planted their succulents for a far-out party favor.
Another flower power balloon garland with a "15 Wild and Free" backdrop was the perfect backdrop for this DIY station. My favorite part was the flower-shaped balloons that really tied the theme together.
Other fun activities that you could do to keep the party guest entertained would be to set up a DIY Flower Power Crown station where each girl can create their own flower-inspired crown. Or let them make their own wood bead bracelets that are so trendy with the teen girls right now.
The bright, sunshine-inspired color palette of pink, peach and yellow inspired lots of good vibes, and these teens had a fabulous time at this Groovy Teen Birthday Party!
