Halloween will be here before you know it, and we’re ready with a fun Greek Mythology Halloween Party! My teenage sons have always been fascinated with Greek mythology. I knew we could dream up the perfect teen Halloween party! With just a bit of imagination and a lot of spray paint, our Mythology party came to life.
Setting the Stage - Medusa's Lair If you have been following my Halloween parties, you will know that I like to create an experience for my guests. The amazing Marble-Look Balustrade With Columns were the perfect way to set the stage. I started by placing them on top of my table, which I layered with the Super-Size Gray Creepy Cloth and Swampy Freaky Camouflage cloths. The Animated Medusa Bust took center stage on top of a plaster column. I added a few Assorted Snakes and a Tropical Fern Leaf Lei. I spray painted the leis with some black paint to give them a creepier look. We wanted the whole set to look like Medusa's Lair with plenty of snakes and trophies from her enemies. We draped creepy cloths and leis on the columns and hung up the Hanging Flame Lights, which looked awesome when the sun went down!
I also spray painted several of the assorted snakes with metallic gold paint. My sons meticulously placed the shiny gold coins, skulls and snakes on the table.
We propped up the Gladiator Shield & Sword and displayed two Skull LED Candle sets to give it a creepier look.
I also spray painted the Laurel Leaf Headband, Roman Wrist Band and Angel Harp Costume Prop a metallic gold and scattered them along the table.
My son propped the Skull from the Bag of Bones on a candle holder and added the Adult's Gold Roman Helmet with Black Brush. I love how he strategically placed the jaw...so creepy!
My son also carefully arranged assorted snakes through the skulls along the columns.
If you have seen any of the Clash of the Titans movies, you may remember there was a gold owl in the 80s version. So of course, we needed a gold owl!
I created our very own Poseidon's Trident, you can see how I did it HERE. Food of the Gods To carry on the theme, set up a small table of Greek inspired food and candy for the guests. Snakes were everywhere, including on our food table. We made these fun Snake Centerpieces, and you can catch my tutorial HERE.
I also whipped up some Cyclops Cupcakes. (Get my recipe HERE)
My boys love hummus, so I whipped up a batch of my favorite hummus. Get my recipe HERE.
We also served Stuffed Grape Leaves, and had a bunch of teen-friendly party food in the other room.
The Costumes Costumes are a must! It is a Halloween party after all! My oldest son dressed up as Calibos and really got into the
