Halloween is my favorite holiday and this year, I can't wait to decorate my front porch with spooky spiders and skeletons! I'm even adding some glam to my porch with these amazing Gold Skeletons. How fabulous are these?
Trick-or-Treat If You Dare!
Every Halloween my whole family heads out for a night of trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. We usually don't have anyone left at the house to greet other trick-or-treaters, so I started to decorate my front porch in a Halloween theme and leave candy in black cauldrons so kids can help themselves to the candy while we're out in the neighborhood with our kids. Needless to say, the cauldrons are always empty when we return! Create this "Trick-or-Treat If You Dare" sign by spray painting a bamboo yard sign black and adding my printable sign to the middle with double-sided tape. Stick it in the ground next to your cauldron and now kids know they can help themselves to the candy ... if they dare!
Set The Scene
Choose from a large selection of outdoor Halloween Decorations that you can use to decorate the outside of your home. This life-size gold posable skeleton was the inspiration for this entire design! You can hang this so it stands fully upright or you can pose him in a sitting position like I did here and put a cauldron full of scary spiders in his lap!
I also used a few gold bag of bones to decorate with. An entire skeleton comes in the bag in individual pieces so you can use them in lots of places for pops of gold. I placed some of the gold bones inside these black metal lanterns and placed the gold skull outside of them. Finish this area by placing a few black spider wall decals on the steps.
As trick-or-treaters walk up to the porch, they will walk by this giant skeleton spider perched in the shrubs and a foam "Rest in Peace" tombstone nestled in between two bushes with gold bones scattered around the base of the tombstone. Perched on top of the tombstone is a skeleton owl. Creepy!
As trick-or-treaters approach the porch, I placed this giant shaking coffin for a little interactive spooky fun!
And, don't forget about the ceiling of your porch! I hung two skull bone mobiles from the ceiling of my porch with 3M Command Strip hooks. How cool are these? I also wrapped the porch pillars with creepy cloth and placed a few scary spiders on it that I spray painted silver.
Finish off the look and place a creepy skeleton dog with gold bones and ceramic bones with spiders scattered around.
I tucked battery-operated tea light candles and LED lights in and behind my decorations so there would be a cool glow to the porch when it got dark. I hope this has inspired you to decorate your front porch this Halloween. Happy Halloween!
