I am always curious to see what play centers children will choose when we start inside recess. This is the first year that every building center is often filled with girls. Over the past ten years, it's mostly been boys who have chosen to build and design while girls often chose coloring or kitchen or reading. I was thrilled to see such a strong shift happening with my girls and I realized that I needed to embrace this trend! I wanted to create a few STEM centers targeted for girls. Boys can use these centers too, but I wanted something special for my future female inventors, designers, and architects!
The design possibilities and creative stories are endless with this magnetic dollhouse. Girls can build their own houses and use the magnetic pieces to engage in creative play! What's better is that the pieces store flat so cleaning up is quick and storage is simple!

Future architects and veterinarians will love this building center! Design your own marine center and care of a variety of ocean animals! There is even medicine and a stretcher for sick animals! The magnetic pieces are easy for little ones to move as they play. You can combine this set with other magnetic sets too which helps expand students' imagination!

My girls love things that can be used in many ways. This Q-BA-MAZE 2.0 was originally designed as a colorful marble run, but that's just the beginning. The interlocking pieces can be connected to make lots of different designs and projects. I especially love this jewelry holder!

Part of the STEM process involves planning, sharing, and reflecting. These notebooks are perfect for girls to sketch a plan and edit their design. They can also write about their design and changes. The notebooks are small enough to be stored with building materials so they never get lost!
