Friendly Ghost Halloween Porch Decor

Friendly Ghost Halloween Porch Decor

My favorite color palette is black and white (to a fault), and Halloween lends itself perfectly to that. With that said, Halloween decorations can be scary! My kids don’t super love the scary stuff, and I have a 5-year-old niece that will flat out refuse to trick or treat anywhere that has so much as spider on the front porch. I thought it would be fun to create some kid friendly Halloween porch decor to cater to that crowd! Be sure to download the free Ghost Face Template here as well!

The first thing I knew it needed was lots of light! Going up to a dark porch wondering if something will jump out at you is no fun for tiny little princesses. I created these ghost luminaries to light the pathway to the door.

Ghost Luminaries

First, print off the free Ghost Face Templates then attach them to white treat bags. Pour the grey/silver sand into the treat bags, just enough to cover the bottom and hold it into place, about 1/4″ high. Turn on the tea lights and insert it into the bag. Voila! You have super cute and functional ghost luminaries to light the path to the door. They would also be darling on a mantel with the lights out.

I added more lights by stringing up a clear light set on white wire. On that string of lights, I added a couple of these darling, and not threatening ghost paper lanterns. Any time I can add paper lanterns to decor I will, too cute!

I set out a bench and blanket so someone can sit out and hand out stuff that I won’t eat beforehand. Please tell me I’m not the only one who has that problem! Halloween candy is so tempting! This year I am going to try and stick with toys like these bat rings and glow-in-the-dark Halloween bouncing balls.

Along the back I strung up those cute inflatable ghosts and bats. Those bats are just way too cute!

Speaking of cute bats, this bat garland is just too darn adorable! Their goofy grins make me smile every time. Such a fun space to walk up to each day!

The ghost emoji pumpkins are one of my favorite parts of the Halloween porch decor. They are just too fun!

My favorite of all though might just be the burlap ghost wreath I made for the front door! He’s just too cute to be spooky!

He’s nice and protected from the elements here, so his little boo sign won’t get ruined. I love how cute he turned out, and couldn’t believe how fast and easy it was!

So many fun and not at all scary things make up this cute Halloween porch. My little niece is so excited about it, and is actually looking forward to Halloween instead of fretting about it.

The only other thing I haven’t mentioned is the trick or treat banner in perfect black and white that pulls the whole thing together. It tells all the littles out there it’s safe to come up and trick or treat here!

Happy Halloween!
