Planning a bridal shower can be a ton of fun and a lot of work. We want to help you put your next bridal shower together with ease. You can also check out the our blog for daily inspiration. Start off by selecting a theme and color palette. For this bridal shower, I selected a Hexagon theme and a vibrant color palette in shades of purple with gold tone accents. Follow along for more tips and tricks on how to throw a successful bridal shower below!
Decor Ideas: There are some really fun geometric decor items out right now. I am a stickler when it comes to committing to a theme and sticking to it. Since I chose a hexagon theme, I tried to make sure everything was a hexagon shape or at least geometric in nature. I filled several of these Gold Geometric Terrarium Candle Holders with White Sand and added these realistic looking Faux Succulent Picks. I also added in some real purple flowers. These Gold Geometric Terrarium Candle Holders were the inspiration for this party theme and I am so in love with how they turned out.
For the backdrop I took colored sheets of card stock and cut them out into hexagon shapes. This backdrop was so easy to hang. I first laid it out on the floor to get the general feel. Start by hanging the hexagon boxes using command strips. Think of the hexagon boxes as the anchor to your design. Next, add in different shades of purple card stock. To hang the card stock, simply use glue dots. Not only is this backdrop easy to make, it is also inexpensive, and comes down easy too! Don't the Faux Succulent Picks look real? I am so excited to use these in my own home decor after this party is over!
Make sure you check out my Hexagon Banner Tutorial. This was made using assorted beads, colored wire, and faux leather cording. Using the faux leather cording you can easily hang or tie this banner! It's definitely a little raw looking, but I think that's why I love it.
Even the silverware was placed in a fun hexagon vase. These Premium Gold Metallic Forks are my new favorite go-to cutlery. These are beautiful and disposable (or you can hand wash and re-use too, sorry it's the Oregonian in me)! They just look so high-end. Perfect for any Bridal Shower or Birthday Party!
It's always important to add varying levels of height to your tablescape. Using these Gold Mercury Candle Holder Sets, along with Battery Operated Round Flameless Candles I was able to achieve a stylist look. These candles can also be turned on and you don't want to worry about keeping an eye on them because they don't burn your house down! I also scattered Gold Flecked Mercury Votive Holders throughout the table. You can add Mini Flameless Votive Candles to the gold fleck votive holders too. Together, they are a beautiful combination.
Let's Eat: Showers are always tricky when it comes to food. Depending on the time of day, I try to select food that fits! This Hexagon Bridal Shower took place after lunch, so I just wanted to offer my guests some savory and sweet appetizers. It's not always necessary to do a full meal if you avoid "peak" meal times. Your menu can consist of just a few items, but make sure they compliment your theme and color palette.
Using the Clear Mini Appetizer Forks, simply slice some Swiss cheese (really any cheese will do) and top it with a blackberry. Clear Mini Appetizer Forks hold this appetizer together nicely. This also makes it easy for your guests to just grab these as they walk by or to add them to their plate of food.
A cheese board is another must have at any bridal shower. You can add both savory and sweet items to please any palette. Plus, this pairs well with wine too! I was beyond exited to see these hexagon shaped crackers. They were the perfect addition to my party and my cheese board. It was a WIN-WIN! Actually, it's kind of embarrassing how excited I still am about these crackers. To set up your cheese board, add in a few types of cheese, an assortment of crackers, honey and jam, nuts, and fresh or dried fruit. Cheese boards are pretty and delicious. You can get really creative on how you style them too! They become edible table decor, if done correctly!
Artisanal Toast makes my heart pitter-patter. Here is another example on how your food can also become part of your decor. Make sure you check out the step-by-step tutorial on how to create this colorful and edible Artisan Berry Toast. It is topped off with edible gold leaf and an assortment of colored sprinkles.
Dessert is a must have in my book. The real question is, do you serve cake or cupcakes? Either one will do, but depending on the theme and my audience, I tend to choose a dessert that will compliment my party the best. This gorgeous Hexagon Marble and Gold Leaf Cake was a real show stopper. Kyra's Bake Shop creates the most stunning desserts and cakes alike. It was the perfect addition to our tablescape too!
I've never seen fondant succulents in any color other than green. When I opened the cake box, I was pleasantly surprised to see these pretty purple succulents. They are so colorful and darling!
Check out the edible gold leaf detailing. It really does make these flowers stand out. They look very chic. Even the gold cake charger fits right in!
You can serve wine, champagne, or non-alcoholic bubbly! These Purple Patterned Champagne Flutes were the inspiration for my color palette. They are plastic, but look so real and expensive. Top them off with a Gold Foil Striped Paper Straw and you have the perfect bridal shower drink!
Even these Plastic Plum Dessert Plates look social media worthy when topped with all of these sweet and savory bites. Plus, they won't break the bank.
