Let's throw it back to the Central Perk and the friends that were always there for you! The TV show Friends was known for it's Thanksgiving episodes that documented multiple Friendsgiving feasts. There are 9 Thanksgiving specials with quotable moments, belly laughs and turkey disasters to inspire an unforgettable Friendsgiving! Yes, that's right, its "The One with The Turkey", could we BE more excited? So put on your Thanksgiving pants, invite your favorite friends over and celebrate with this iconic Friends-themed Turkey-day feast.
Living far from family, Friendsgiving has become a large affair for my family and the table is set for a group of 12 this year. Of course, we always have room for more last minute guests!
No matter how many people are at the table it's always set with plenty of room in the middle for the all important turkey.
Dress up your turkey Monica style....just don't put the raw one on your head first, it might get stuck. Add Jumbo Sunglasses and a fez hat to your cooked turkey if you're so inclined. Glue a yellow Fiesta Tassel Earring to a Red Plastic Tumbler to create your very own fez hat.
For a Friends-themed table, you can't go past incorporating an iconic yellow peephole frame . Cut up a letter board and spray paint it purple and then attach it to the back of a frame.
Cut up a metal tealight cover into a circle and glue it in the middle of a gold painted letter "O" to create the peephole. Lastly, write a Joey Tribbiani inspired message with the letter board letters.
If you are looking for the perfect Friendsgiving dessert you can't forget Rachel's trifle. It's one of the most iconic holiday foods in television history. Just make sure whoever is on dessert duty makes it minus the beef and peas.
Growing up in New Zealand a trifle is a staple of our holiday celebrations and the beef-free versions are delicious. Serve yours up in a Medium Trifle Container.
Setting a large table can prove difficult when it comes to matching tableware for all. The Friends Party Tableware Pack makes it easy with enough plates, napkins and cups for up to 20 guests.
Use Red Square Paper Dinner Plates under each plate for a pop of color and add knives, forks and spoons to each setting.
Cookies are a great way of bring the Friends voices to life for each guest. Kelly of Sugarly added a classic Thanksgiving quote to sugar cookies that I then sat on each guest's plate. You can almost hear Joey's voice!
It wouldn't be an awkward Friends Thanksgiving moment without a meeting of exes. Invite Monica's ex, Richard, to the table by adding the mustache from a Straw with Mustache Cutout to a DIY Coffee Mug.
To get over the meeting of exes, cheer Chandler up with these cute DIY Mini Turkey Place Cards. They replicate the turkey Monica puts on her head and dances in to cheer Chandler up. Learn how to make your own Turkey Place Cards HERE.
Double down on the fun by giving each guest their own Friends alter ego. I choose Smitten Kitten!
To add a bit of Friends-inspired decor to the dining room I painted DIY White Umbrellas red, blue and yellow like the umbrellas in the opening credits of the show. Place them near the table or in a fireplace opening like I did. You might even find yourself recreating the opening song sometime during the day.
Add a "Happy Friends Giving" message to the umbrellas using the iconic Friends font. The Gabriel Weiss font is readily available and free to download for personal projects such as this.
Decorate the mantel with another Friends peephole frame and a fun quote. Use a Gold Glitter Picture Frame Cutout as the frame. Cut off the pointed edges and then flip it over to paint it bright yellow.
Glue the remaining part of the purple painted letter board to the back of the frame. Add your favorite quote using the letter board letters and a peephole using the same method as the table frame above. In front of the frame add a mini turkey place card and New York City themed props, such as a Taxi Favor Box.
Add a variety of pumpkins to your mantel or display table set-up. Incorporate real pumpkins with Friends quotes, White Craft Pumpkins with a Friends decoupaged napkin and purple painted ceramic pumpkin with Richard mustaches.
Paint larger foam pumpkins red and decorate with Jumbo Sunglasses and a "Central Perk" cut out from the party pack cups.
Finally, accent the mantel with DIY Ceramic White Coffee Mugs, adding more Red Self-Adhesive Name Tags for a pop of color and laughter.
Now that you've finished setting your Friends-themed Thanksgiving table its time to conquer Everest (AKA the turkey).
