4th of July Patriotic Porch Decor

When we moved into our new house I was so excited about finally having a front porch. I've always loved the idea of having a front porch; it reminds me of simpler times where neighbors visited with each other and life moved at a slightly slower pace. Summer is the perfect time to spend an afternoon relaxing in the shade of your porch while visiting with friends or reading a good book, all while sipping on a refreshing cocktail.

Patriotic Cocktails

I absolutely love having a space that instantly greets people when they arrive, it's our home's welcome center and with all the great patriotic decorations it's easy to spruce up your front porch.

I started by hanging the patriotic flag flocked bunting at the top of our porch opening. We drilled holes in the top of the eave and used hooks to hang the stars and stripes bunting.

Hanging Flag Bunting

I fell in love with the cloth traditional pillar bunting and originally thought it would look great hanging from our porch columns, but I didn't take into account the light fixtures. So, I decided to hang them on either side of my window to frame the main area of our porch. I added another set of the patriotic flag flocked bunting to balance it out.

I love all the different textures and variations of the red, white and blue. I switched out our DIY porch pillows for a more patriotic version of red, white, blue and gold. I picked up a $5 pillow from my local store and used the same design I used to create these DIY 4th of July balloons to make a custom 4th of July pillow for my porch.

I want my porch to be a colorful and vibrant display that cheerfully greets guests as they arrive. A beautiful display of fresh red and white flowers helps make my porch a festive display. I made DIY Patriotic Planters to display these fresh blooms and love the simple way they bring the stars and stripes to our front porch decor. I added small cloth American flags to the plants and surrounded them with lanterns and glittery USA letters.

The best part about having a porch is sitting outside and relaxing with a drink in hand. We love to sit out on our porch in the later afternoon and sip on a refreshing cocktail while we watch the kids play. I love soaking in the sights and sounds of summer and cherish these special moments and memories made while sitting our on our porch.

I like to move my DIY Metallic Bar Cart outside during the summer so I can stock it with cold drinks and treats. I set my DIY Patriotic Serving Tray on the top of the bar cart with patriotic burst napkins, DIY Patriotic Coasters and of course a refreshing cocktail. This 4th of July we will be sipping on a refreshing Red, White and Blue Mint Fizz, and the kids get to enjoy a tasty Lemonade Bomb Pop Drink.
