It is no surprise that watercolor and watercolor-like elements such as ombre are such a hot wedding trend. The softness of diluted shades adds a stunning artistic element to your wedding decor.
Create an eye-catching, statement look by using a deep green watercolor. Combine the forest inspired watercolor tones with organic textured greenery, florals and wood. Layer in gold metallics, sequins, and modern acrylics for a dreamy, elegant wedding aesthetic that will have your guests saying " I do" love it!
The Table
Bring the look and feel of the forest to the table. I used a lush forest green velvet table runner on top of a white table cloth as the base for the reception tables. I did not lay the runner flat, I kept small creases & movement in the runner, it gives a more organic feeling.
To further emphasize the forest inspiration, I used a wood flower box for the table florals. I tied a green velvet ribbon around the box to tie in with the runner and settings. I kept the flowers in a single white palette and used ferns and greens to give them texture.
In front of the box I used Gold Glitter Table Numbers for an extra touch of glam to identify each table.
The Gold Glitter Votive Holders matched the table numbers so well. I placed one of these at each end of the table with a pair of brass candlesticks and forest green taper candles.
The Place Settings
Each place is set with a glamorous Gold Charger, Gold Rimmed Paper Dinner Plates and Gold Rimmed Paper Dessert Plates. I love these plates, they look so elegant with the trio of Premium Metallic Gold Cutlery tied with green velvet ribbon sitting on top. To break up the layers of gold I used the Green Luncheon Napkins peaking out between the plates.
I used matching Gold Rimmed Plastic Wine Glasses and Premium Gold-Trim Plastic Cups to serve drinks at the table.
The Cake Table Backdrop
The cake table is where I really highlighted the watercolor and ombre forest green aesthetic. I started with a watercolor backdrop. This is a wall mural that can be attached temporarily or permanently, so it can easily be used at a wedding venue.
The top of the watercolor, the white portion, provides a great opportunity to use a hanging centerpiece.
I hung a fabulous and eye-catching Gold Geometric Sphere. I glued a Gold Glitter Votive Holder to the bottom of the sphere. This throws beautiful candlelight over the cake below as night falls.
On top of the sphere I used ivy, fern, hydrangea and viburnam. Starting with the flowers at the top center and draping the greenery down in 4 spots, one at each corner.
The Cake Table
I set the cake table with a white tablecloth and a sequin table cloth that I gathered at the center as a runner to ground the cake. You can use two of the Gold Sequin Table Runners to get the same heavy movement and cascade over the table.
On the left of the table I created a modern acrylic sign, such a fun addition for cake cutting pictures. Get all the DIY steps HERE.
The sign sits on top of a gift box to give it some height. I then placed a set of Gold-Flecked Mercury Cylinder Candle Holders and a single Gold-Flecked Mercury Votive Holder in front of the box.
On the opposite side of the table I used the same candle holders, this time placed in front of a Tall White Ceramic Vase filled with white roses.
The centerpiece, a stunning forest green ombre cake by Confection Deception. The cake sits on top of Footed Cake Stand. I unscrewed the bottom and replaced this with a gold spray painted pizza base.
I used the Personalized Sweet Fall Cake Topper on top of the cake. The gold against the acrylic fits perfectly with the other elements on the table.
The Seating Chart
Now that the tables are set, it is time to guide your guests to their seats. I created a lush fern & acrylic seating chart, also inspired by the forest. Get all the DIY steps HERE.
The large panel of ferns is displayed on a wooden easel and sits beside the cake table. This way guests get to peek at the cake as they find their seats.
Painted Clear Hexagon Place Cards identify each guest.
and of course LOVE leads the way on your wedding day!
