Field Day is one of the most memorable days of the school year, and the kids look forward to it all year long. Each year we have a place for the kids to do an indoor activity. Whether it’s meant to give students a break from the physical activities or to replace an activity in case of rain, setting up some inside stations is a great addition to any field day. Today I’m sharing a fun field day indoor activity idea the kids will love.
When it comes to celebrating Field Day, I love incorporating a good theme. One of my favorite themes is “superhero.” It’s such a great way to make all kids feel like they are strong, brave, and have unique talents. One fun idea to complete indoors is lip sync and freeze dance in the music room. Cue some positive, inspiring music and you are set. Another fun idea is coloring pages with superhero themes like the one you can find HERE. One more idea is designing superhero capes and adding a fun photo backdrop for extra smiles. The kids LOVE completing this activity. Here’s how I set up a superhero cape station.
Fabric Markers: The number of students you have will determine which marker set to purchase. If you are looking for something for the entire campus, the Fabulous Fabric Marker Classpack and Neon Fabric Markers Classpack are the best options. If you are looking for something for a grade level or individual class, the 8-piece Fabulous Fabric Markers and Tulip® Neon Fabric Markers might be the best choices. I really liked the option of having brighter, neon markers.
Jumbo Superhero Word Cutouts : I loved having these up in the room and at the tables to give the kids ideas of what power words might look like. Some students might want to use these words and others will want to do something completely different.
Giant Superhero Cutouts : These cutouts are AMAZING! There are 6 in each set and they are HUGE! Much bigger than I thought they'd be. This is great for a photo booth or just having up as decoration around not only this room for the DIY Capes, but also around the school on this special themed field day.
Superhero Foil Bursts : These are great little decorations that bring some fun to each table. They are easy to set up and make clean-up after Field Day a breeze! After setting up all your necessary supplies for the DIY capes, let students go to work decorating their own capes!
