Traditional red and green Christmas colors get a festive makeover with a southwest flair in this llama themed celebration.
Forget snowmen and reindeer, this Christmas is all about llamas! These lovable creatures are still trending so I decided to celebrate the holidays with a fiesta themed Christmas party. There is nothing I love more than a clever pun for parties so I decided to dub this celebration a "Fleece Navidad Fiesta."
I've always been a big fan of fiesta themed parties! A few years ago I hosted a Margaritas and Mistletoe party and it was one of my favorite themed parties. Last year I hosted a Fa La Llama PJs & Pancakes party, but this year I decided to combine the two themes for a vibrant kid-friendly fiesta.

I started by giving the plain White Cutout Banner a makeover. I painted one of the banners with red paint and added green Christmas Pom-Pom Trim. I embellished the other sets of banners with the red and white pom-pom trim. I also added a Festive Christmas Garland to create a simple backdrop for our dessert table.
What's Christmas without a Christmas tree? Of course, we couldn't have just any tree for this party, this celebration calls for a giant Christmas cactus. If you're hosting a gift exchange, this is the perfect spot for your guests to put their gifts.
Whether I'm serving a full meal or just dessert, I always like to have a dedicated party table where everyone can help themselves to treats. Not only does this create a focal point for your party but it makes planning ahead and hosting so much easier. I added a Holiday Cactus Garland to the front of the old desk I used to display treats.
I gave this Natural Wood Tray a quick makeover by adding red Christmas Pom-Pom Trim to the edge. It's the perfect place to display red and green cookies or other sweet treats during your party.
I love the Clear Rectangle Candy Containers and use them frequently at my parties. I jazzed a couple of them up with the Christmas Pom-Pom Trim and it really helps tie everything on the dessert table together. Fill your Containers with candy or snacks and let guests help themselves throughout the party. A pot of faux succulents was the perfect spot to display green cactus lollipops.
I wanted to make sure everyone went home with a fluffy, lovable llama so I set up an "Adopt a Llama" station next to the dessert table. I used a vintage baby crib mattress spring as as a way to display all the Christmas Stuffed Llamas. I also added a few Mini Gracias Favor Bags filled with candy, because our llamas love candy!
This was also the perfect spot to hang my DIY Llama Hanging Banner and a DIY fiesta yarn garland. I also made DIY Llama Christmas Ornaments as party favors for guest and this was a great place to display them.
This isn't your typical Christmas party so spice things up with a fiesta inspired menu. After everyone had worked up an appetite we sat down to my favorite fiesta dishes like tacos, enchiladas and of course chips and guac! I love all of the fun details in the Llama Christmas Fiesta Plates. I layered them on top of the beautiful 9" Premium White Dinner Plates with Gold Rims. When hosting a kids' party it's always important to have activities or crafts to keep everyone busy and entertained. I wanted something that the kids could easily do on their own. I saw these Christmas Snow Globe Craft Kits and I knew they would be the perfect activity for our party. But, they didn't fit with our party theme. No prob-llama! I simply gave them a quick makeover and created DIY Llama Snow Globes for our fiesta.
