No matter what, writing with a feather pen makes you feel way more fancy! This one is so easy, you can make these while binge-watching your fave Netflix show. Tear off a 1-inch piece of washi tape and attach the end of a feather to the tape. Wrap it around the end of the pen. Repeat with 1 or 2 more feathers, overlapping the tape as you go. Finish it by wrapping one more piece of washi tape around all of the layers.

DIY Feather Pom-Pom Birds

How cute will these birdhouses look standing in your houseplants? What a fun way to bring the outdoors in! Glue one small yarn pom-pom to a larger one. Trim feathers down and glue them to the sides of the large yarn pom-pom. Fold a small square of orange felt over and cut a triangle on the fold that’s about ¼ to ½-inch long. Keeping the triangle folded, glue the fold into the center of the small pom-pom as the beak. Trim the white ball pin ends off of stick pins and glue them on as eyes. Use a permanent marker to draw black pupils in the center of each eye. Perch the birds on the leaves of your plants, or glue them to a darling little Birdhouse Planter Stick.

DIY Feather Monster Bookmarks

Kids will be more excited to get back to that school book when they are greeted with a smiling feather-headed monster! To make one bookmark, paint 2 Large Natural Wood Craft Sticks in any color. While they are drying, choose the perfect feathers from the Bulk Feather Assortment that will act as the monsters’ hair. (Make sure to choose feathers that have a thin, flat spine.) Glue the feather(s) to the end of one wood stick, and then glue the other painted stick on top so that the painted sides are facing out. Glue googly eyes on the bookmark near the feather and draw a little mouth below it. Imagine how cute your child’s stack of books will be on his bedside table with these faces peeking out!

DIY Feather Peacock Fan

Have you ever looked at a peacock and thought, I want a fan made to look like that gorgeous bird? These stiff feathers from the Bulk Feather Assortment are perfect for fan-making. Count out about 12 feathers and trim off the pointy ends. Arrange them on your covered work surface in a semicircle (fan) shape. Cut a piece of cardstock about 1-by-3 inches and apply Aleene’s® Quick Dry Tacky Glue all over the cardstock. Press and hold the glue side of the paper to the spot where all of the feathers come together and hold. While it’s drying, draw an “8” shape on another piece of cardstock, about 3 inches tall, making sure the top portion of the “8” is smaller than the bottom part. Cut it out, flip it over and draw eyes and a beak on the face. Flip the fan over and glue the peacock’s body to the front of the fan. Embellish feathers with paint

DIY Feather Bowl

Feathers are so lightweight and airy that it’s hard to believe that they have the ability to hold anything! But when feathers meet Mod Podge®, magic happens! First cover a bowl of your choice with plastic wrap. Apply Mod Podge® to a small area of the bowl, and then stick a feather on. Paint more Mod Podge® on top and keep working all the way around until the bowl is totally covered. Let it dry completely. (We turned the bowl upside down and rested it on a tall water bottle.) Carefully remove the plastic wrap from the bowl, and then peel the plastic wrap off of the dried feathers. You can trim the edge so that it’s even or just let it be wild and free! Fill it with craft supplies, candy or let it be a colorful catch-all on your kitchen counter.
