Favorite Things Christmas Party Table

I wanted our party table to be cozy, warm, and inviting. A red, white, and green plaid tablecloth coordinated with our plaid party theme perfectly.

Every stocking place card was filled with tasty holiday treats and had each party guest's name on the top in gold letters. Learn how to make your own Ornament Place Cards here!

On the left side of each place setting was a piece of white fur. I love the wintery feel it gave the table and how it matched the fur on the Plaid Santa Hats and the top of each mini stocking. Pretty Gold Utensils were placed on each piece of fur.

On the right side of each place setting was a frosty sprig of pine that looked like it had just been brought in from the snowy outdoors just for the party.

Down the middle of the table was a gorgeous poinsettia garland in a deep, red color.

Two Plaid Santa Hats were filled with cotton batting, so they would stand on their own, and reinforced the Christmas plaid pajama party theme. A small tree placed in a gold pail matched the pine picks and the Gold Utensils and brought the whole look together. A red and kraft gift bag were placed on the table and tied in the gift exchange element of the party.

A gorgeous DIY Mitten Christmas Wreath was hung above the festive table. You won't believe how easy this wreath is to make by yourself!

Favorite Things Pajama Party Bar Cart

It just isn't a party without treats, so I placed a few festive goodies on my gold bar cart. Around the top of the cart I hung a darling plaid pom-pom garland in two different layers.

Another matching Plaid Santa Hat sat next to a small Christmas tree by the treats. Dark chocolate caramels with sea salt and mixed nuts were placed in little white treat cups on a silver tiered serving platter, just waiting to be enjoyed by eager party guests.

The second shelf of the bar cart featured Clear Patterned Plastic Wine Glasses along with custom drink stirrers. I made the cute drink stirrers by gluing a Mini Santa Hat onto the top of Bamboo Skewers that I cut down. So easy!

The bottom shelf of the bar cart held some candy to snack on during the party that was displayed in plaid snack bowls. Apple taffy and Red Buttermints satisfied our sweet tooths during the day's festivities!

How to Host a Favorite Things Party Gift Exchange

A favorite things gift exchange doesn't have to be complicated. With these easy instructions and free printables you'll be ready to host in no time!

First, you'll need to send out invitations with instructions to all the party guests so they know what to bring and what to expect. Luckily for you I shared how to make the cutest fuzzy slipper DIY Pajama Party Invitations, along with a Free Printable Invitation Template. All you have to do is print it out and fill in the party details. I love how the red plaid and fur slippers match the red plaid and fur used throughout the party.

For your favorite things party, choose how many gifts each guests should bring and set a price point for guests to stay around. For our party, I put on the invitation that each guest should bring 4 of the same gifts that cost under $8 each. Gifts can come wrapped or unwrapped. I made sure to have plaid, kraft, and red gift bags ready for anyone that needed them throughout the party.

favorite-things-christmas-pajama-partyI also had Free Printable Bag Tags ready for everyone to write their name on and attach to the gifts that they brought. This made it easy for everyone to find their gifts and remember who brought which gift.

When guests arrived at the favorite things pajama party, they put all their gifts on the gift table. On the table was a letter board that said "These are a few of my favorite things." I added a red plaid ribbon bow to the top of the board to make it look like a packaged gift. It didn't take long for the party to be filled up with gifts, each holding our favorites!

When each guest arrived they had to write their name on three different Free Printable Name Cards. Their names all went into a bowl, and when it was time to play, each person chose three names out of the bowl. If anyone got their own name or the same name twice, they had to put it back and pick again.

One person started the game by going up front, sharing what they brought and why it's one of their favorite items. They then read the three names they picked and gave their favorite items to those three people. The next person goes up and shares, etc. until everyone has had their turn and passed out their gifts. Everyone who brought gifts now gets to go home with three new things to try and love!

I hope I've inspired you to create your own Favorite Things Christmas Pajama Party this holiday season! It's a wonderful way to unwind with friends and enjoy each other's company.
