In my house we love having fun family nights and this Family Valentine Party is a great way to kick off February…the month of love. We made mini mailboxes for each family member, decorated and wrote valentines for those we love and of course ate homemade heart-shaped donuts. My kids can’t wait to deliver the valentines they made to our Grandpa’s home, and spread Valentine cheer to all the residents. The kids also enjoy delivering little messages and notes into each other’s mailboxes. All of the fun and details are below!
Chocolate Cake Donuts For our treats, we made a yummy homemade donut bar. Chocolate Cake Donuts are so easy to make. We love the heart donut pans we found online...and plan on making many donuts in the future. We let the kids help make the donuts and add Valentine sprinkles.
For a fun donut bar, you can line up cake stands with a couple different kinds of homemade cake donuts. Serve milk to your guests in cute valentine heart cups with a red striped straw. We decorated our mini donut buffet with heart doilies, a gold heart garland, and tissue paper pom-poms in pink and blue
Serve the homemade donuts with cute heart-shaped plates and red polka-dot napkins.
Try adding your festive drink cups to a white cake stand lined with large heart doilies.
DIY Mailboxes For this project, each family member made their own Valentine Mailbox. You just need a few items to decorate and create these mini mailboxes! My kids love giving and getting little letters and messages in their mini mailboxes. We plan on keeping them up all February to spread the Valentine's Day LOVE in our home.
You can use washi tape, foam heart shapes and gold Sharpies to decorate the mini mailboxes.
A fun idea is to add a base to the mailboxes using a painted candlestick!
Just raise those little flags for a special delivery!
DIY Love Letter Station For our Family Valentine Making party, we created a Love Letter Station. Use a pretty red tray to contain all the accessories you need to create valentines and little notes for loved ones.
We added DIY Valentines, foam hearts, valentine stamps, washi tape, stickers, and Sharpie markers. Family Valentine Making Party Decor A gold glitter table runner was the perfect base for our table decor. We used enormous heart foam shapes to create place settings for each family member. Large foam conversations hearts and candy were sprinkled around each setting. We loved the large chocolate conversation hearts!
This was such a fun family party to kick off February! Try creating this fun family activity with your loved ones during the month of LOVE!
