I can't tell you how happy I am when fall rolls around! Spying pumpkins, mums, and rustic wreaths starting to pop up on front porches around my neighborhood puts a smile on my face. I love the warm, welcoming feeling created by a decorated front porch and this year I wanted to go all out for fall! A few tricks like a collapsible faux hay bale, faux pumpkins, and simple DIY pillows made a big impact with just a little bit of effort. The best part is I can reuse all the decorations for next year!
The Front Porch: Incorporating a hay bale set the tone for fall and provided a great surface for a vignette of pumpkins and gourds. While it looks real, it is actually a faux collapsible hay bale that I can easily store away and bring out year after year! I transformed the rest of the front porch with faux pumpkins, lanterns, and fall pillows.
DIY Burlap Pillows: To freshen up our bench for fall, I made a set of three no-sew burlap pillows using these burlap pillow squares. I decorated them with burlap fall leaves and used letter stencils to add our monogram and an "I love fall" message. The results are so cute and they couldn't have been easier to make! Get the step-by-step tutorial here.
Wood Slice Decorated Planter Box: This wood slice planter box filled with faux pumpkins and pinecones is the star of the other side of the front porch - and I made it myself! Fall is all about celebrating nature and I love the added natural texture the wood slices bring to the outside of the wood box. It makes for a pretty vignette set on top of the faux hay bale and surrounded by pumpkins. It would also make for a fun fall centerpiece! Find out how to make the box here.
Rustic Fall Wreath: I had never made a burlap wreath before, but now that I know how easy they are to make, I'm hooked! This DIY fall burlap wreath is as simple as weaving strips of burlap through a wire wreath form and adding a few fall accents such as leaves and pinecones. See how easy it is to make here.
Festive Fall Accents: I rounded out my front porch decor with a few festive accents like these sweet pumpkin tea light holders. They are battery operated so all you need to do is turn them on when you want a little glow!
I hung this fall maple leaf wreath across my wall planters to add some warm fall color to the area above our bench.
My front porch feels so cozy and welcoming, I plan to keep this up through Thanksgiving. I don't have to worry about any of the pumpkins rotting in the Texas heat since they are all faux, making for long-lasting decor!
