Set the Scene

Prior to setting this pretty table, we used a fun Shibori dying technique using a Tulip® One-Step Shibori Tie-Dye Kit® on our DIY White Table Runner and Tea Towels. (Want to know more? Learn how to add some color and texture to your table accents with the fun Shibori dying techniques here.)

To set the scene, lay your Shibori-dyed table runner across the table and then place a length or two (depending on the size of your table) of Silver Dollar Eucalyptus Garland across the table runner. Set two Stained Wood Centerpiece Boxes in the center of the table runner.

We also made a few Chinoiserie pumpkins using this Mod Podge® Napkin technique on our White Craft Pumpkins and a few larger craft pumpkins we had in our craft stash. What's Chinoiserie, you ask? Chinoiserie (sheen-waa-zer-ee) is basically fanciful European interpretations of Chinese styles. In fact, Chinoiserie comes from the French word "chinois", which means "Chinese". Common themes include lush garden scenery, whimsical designs and highly embellished finishes.

Paint 2-3 sets of the DIY Decorative Pumpkin Set, Fall Foam Pumpkins and Orange Craft Pumpkins in various hues of navy, dusty blue and rustic orange. To tie the look of the pumpkins together, we painted all the stems with stunning metallic gold acrylic paint. Once the pumpkins are dry, set them along the table runner, placing a few on top of the Stained Wooden Centerpiece Boxes. You'll also want to place a couple of Gold Three-Arm Candelabras with White Taper Candles on the table runner.

Now let's make an easy wood bead garland to use as an accent around the pumpkins. Paint beads from the Bulk Unfinished Wood Bead Assortment with navy and dusty blue acrylic paint. Once dry, thread the beads onto a length of twine and tie off the ends. We also made jute twine tassels to embellish each end of the garland. (To learn how to make jute twine tassels, check out this tutorial.) Now snake the garland through the pumpkins, boxes, and candelabras in the center of the table. Add a few Gold Mercury Glass Votive Candle Holders to add to the ambiance.

Place Setting

To start, lay down a Natural Woven Placemat at each place setting. Top each placemat with a Gold Rim Plastic Dinner Plate and then a Chinoiserie Wedding Paper Dinner Plate. (Can you believe THESE are paper plates? They are, and they're stunning!)

Make the mini place card garlands the same way you made the beaded garland in the middle of the table - just use smaller beads. Add a Wood Thank You Favor Tag that's been painted navy and adorned with a name in hand calligraphy. Place the mini garland around an Orange Craft Pumpkin with a gold painted stem. Set the pumpkin and two stalks of dried wheat on the top plate.

DIY White Tea Towels that have been Shibori dyed to match the table runner make perfect napkins. Slide a Wooden Napkin Ring over each one for a subtle rustic accent. Finally, add Metallic Gold Plastic Champagne Flutes, Gold Rim Plastic Wine Glasses and Metallic Gold Cutlery sets to each of the place settings.
