I'm so smitten with the boho style and can't get enough of its laid back eclectic layered approach to design. The style is so easy to achieve and works well with any color palette. We styled a fall bridal shower with these carefree ideas in mind and even added in a pinch of whimsy with a DIY Teepee Centerpiece for a dose of fun!
Light and Airy Fall Decor
Despite the rich colors, we wanted our shower to have a light and ethereal feel, so we turned our table on the diagonal to face the window, which took advantage of the beautiful natural light pouring in. This helped to keep the vibrant burgundy and navy from feeling to heavy.
A gorgeous yarn and natural cording chandelier was created and hung over our dining table to draw guests' eyes upward. We loved how this simple detail elevated the look and feel of the entire room.
The DIY Yarn Chandelier was created by looping strands of yarn and natural cording onto an embroidery hoop, which then received a crowning touch of elegant burgundy and blush peonies with added sprigs of greenery and leaves. You can find the DIY to create your own showstopper here.
In my opinion, macrame and boho style go hand-in-hand, so we layered our dining table with a macrame table runner, which coordinated nicely with the natural wood tones and balanced the darker colors used throughout our shower.
Our DIY Teepee Centerpiece sat front and center on our dining table and added a dose of whimsy and fun to the day. We started by painting a DIY teepee shelf, and then added a small cluster of flowers. You can find the details to create your own here.
A combo of navy and blush pink taper candles sat beside our DIY Teepee Centerpiece in gold metal taper candle holders and provided height and dimension to the table. I love how they play off the shape of the teepee and bring in a slightly modern element to the tablescape.
A lush mix of brilliant fall florals were tucked inside hammered decorative bowls and sat at the outer ends of our table.
We placed a simple wooden garden screen in the corner of the room to warm up the otherwise all-white room. It acted as the perfect focal point behind our bar cart. Yarn and natural cording was added to a gold hoop with burgundy peonies to tie in with our DIY Yarn Chandelier.
Another bouquet of flowers, nestled inside a hammered decorative bowl, sat beside the bride's gifts at the bottom of our bar cart, which were packaged inside floral navy gift bags.
Modern Floral Boho Place Settings
Instead of using typical chargers under our plates, we created our own by painting round unfinished wood signs in colors to coordinate with our theme. They provided the perfect pop of color and added a modern touch.
We then layered navy floral paper dessert plates atop burgundy plastic dinner plates and rested them on our freshly painted wooden chargers.
Navy and white dotted napkins were complimented by wooden napkin rings and sat to the left of each place setting. Hammered gold forks and knives looked eye-catching sitting in the center of our dessert plates.
Pretty patterned wine glasses were kept flowing with Rosé and completed the overall look of the our place settings.
Our Embroidery Hoop Place Cards not only looked beautiful sitting to the right of each place setting, but they made the perfect take-home gift for each guest.
Simple Sweets
Our bar cart acted as a cake table for the shower and looked right at home in front of the natural wood garden screen. We kept our dessert sweet and simple by topping a two-layer naked cake with a boho yarn fringe hoop. We love how it tied in with the decor, yet didn't compete for attention.
The cake sat atop a natural wooden cake plate, which then rested on one of our DIY painted chargers. We love that the charger provided a pop of color to the top of our bar cart without being too bold.
A trio of taper candles sat beside our cake for just the right amount of balance. We mixed a gold taper candle holder with a silvertone taper candle holder and a silver candle holder, which were both spray painted gold, for an eclectic look.
We hope you found some inspiration to host your own Fall boho Bridal Shower!
