Insect Eraser Graphing Activity

Insect Eraser Graphing Activity

Before students play, you will need to put some Insect Mini Erasers into a bin, along with a Going Buggy Bug Tong. I put everything into a Small Locking Storage Bin so that it was easier to store and students could open and close the bin on their own. You will also need to print out enough Insect Scoop and Graph printables for your class. Download the Free Insect Eraser Graph here.

To play, students will use the Going Buggy Bug Tongs to "catch" some of the insects. If they don't scoop out enough insects the first time, have them try again by wiggling the tongs down into the erasers.

Once they scoop out some of the insects they will then graph their results. Have students place their insects onto the graph before they color it in order to make sure they are correctly representing the number on the graph.

After students have colored in the graph, they will interpret their data by answering the questions at the bottom about which insect they had the most and least of.
