Aloha, it's the last day of school! The end of the year is always bittersweet. But it's the perfect time to have some fun, enjoy each other's company one last time and celebrate everyone's accomplishments with a last day of school luau celebration.
Deck out your classroom with tropical touches or throw your own luau outside for a more beachy feel. For your center backdrop, use a backdrop frame and hang a hibiscus plastic table cloth with solid colored paper lanterns. Cover your main table with a hibiscus plastic table cloth and add some personality to your tropical table setting with an oak letter board and luau rainbow lei accessories. Your students will love dressing up in leis, flower crowns and flower bracelets.
To make your last day of school luau that much more exciting and memorable, give your students their own hula skirts and leis for a unique keepsake! I love this kid's kit becomes it comes in a pack of 12 complete sets. Display goodies on a tabletop tiki hut with a tropical flowered table skirt, jumbo tiki cardboard cutouts and an aloha sign to complete the look.
Luau Game Station #1 - Limbo Time!
Fill your day with fun luau themed game stations. The kids will be so excited to have a little friendly competition playing this Limbo Game! The goal is to see who can go down the lowest without falling. The winners will take home a mini beach ball.
Luau Game Station #2 - Ring Toss
Start a tournament with your kiddos for some real fun in the sun with a classic ring toss game! This activity challenges your little learners to toss rings onto big, bold hibiscus flowers. The winner gets a colorful beach ball!
Luau Station #3 - Snack Time
Don't forget to include a snack break in your party schedule! An easy snack idea is to put some goldfish in these tropical leaf plastic cups.
Luau Game Station #4 - Potato Sack Race
You can't possibly have a luau party without having a potato sack race. It's the perfect activity to get your kiddos excited about hopping their way to the finish line and the end of the school year!
At the end of the day, have a fun awards ceremony. The students will receive tropical trophies for completing the year and reaching their goals. This is a simple way to recognize students and make them feel proud of all their hard work before summer break starts.
They will also get Mini DIY Sand Buckets so their classmates can autograph them. These gifts will make the perfect end of the year keepsake! Handing these out towards the end of the day will be a great way to wrap up your luau party and your year together.
I hope these activities are a big hit with your students at your own year end celebrations!
