As a mother of young children, most holiday gatherings are centered around the kids. I do love a fun party for little ones but when I was asked to create an Easter egg decorating party with a more mature feel (a women’s party) I couldn’t wait to get planning. My mind immediately went to a fancy, pretty dinner party with more sophisticated foods and Easter crafts. Who doesn’t love an excuse to get together with their girlfriends for a ladies’ night once in a while?
When I came across the Vintage Collection of party supplies, I knew they would be the tone and be the perfect Easter themed party.
The beautiful banner and lace garland, combined with the hanging fans felt so springy and festive. Believe it or not, the table runner is paper! It is thick and glossy and looked gorgeous.
For the food buffet, I wanted things to be special and memorable, but also simple. A make-the-day-before pasta salad, cupcakes from my favorite local bakery were topped off with the darling pinwheel picks, baked asparagus, fruit salad, and my family's recipe for Croque Monsieur (it's a crowd-pleaser every time! Be sure to check out the recipe!) made for a great spread.
I used the dinner napkins and tied them together with hot pink baker's twine, light blue knives, spoons, and forks, and Easter egg chocolate suckers for guests to grab when they filled up their square dinner plates.
The light blue cups were for ice water, before the after dinner tea. We used the square dessert plates for the cupcakes, tea cookies, cheesecake and macaroons. It's not girls' night without dessert! It was such a lovely evening of girl talk, eating, crafting, and more eating. Just what we all needed.
I wanted the ladies to have something to carry home their decorated eggs with (check out my step-by-steps for marbleized Easter eggs and bejeweled eggs!), and these sweet white bamboo Easter baskets with ribbon filled with green easter grass were perfect. I also sent each guest home with a little favor box full of Hershey's® spring assortment.
I hope I have inspired you to get your girlfriends together for a fun night of Easter egg decorating, food and lots of laughs! For more Easter ideas be sure to check out our full selection of Easter supplies.
