Who knew a paper plate could be so versatile! Ella and Annie wanted to show you five different paper plate craft ideas to keep your kiddos busy. We have something for everyone. Try out various art techniques, make music, create window art and so much more! I always set up my crafting station first. It's simple, a plastic table cloth and a paper bag for trash.

Take the paper plate and turn it over so that the bottom, non-glossy, side is facing up. Using a watercolor paint brush and the liquid watercolors, have kids paint the bottom of their paper plate. What I love about the liquid watercolor paint is how vivid the colors are! Let the paint dry. Cut petals on the sides of the plate. We took a large craft stick and painted it green with a painter's pen. Hot glue the green craft stick to the paper plate flower. Cut green leaves from craft foam sheets and stick onto the craft stick.
What You'll Need:

Grab two white paper plates. Paint one (right side up) blue. For the second plate, have a parent use a craft knife and cut out the inner circle of the plate, keeping the rim intact. Paint the rim of the plate blue. Allow the plates to dry. Once the plate has dried add a thin layer of Mod Podge® all over the plate and sprinkle with fine blue glitter. Cut small pieces of the green streamer. Twist the streamers and stick to the plate with glue dots. Now add your tropical fish! Use glue dots to attach the blue rim when you are done decorating.
What You'll Need:

You will need two paper plates. Turn both plates with their bottoms facing up. Coat the plate in a thin layer of Mod Podge® and place tissue paper squares on top. Repeat until plate is covered. With the foam paint brush, carefully go over the top of the tissue squares with Mod Podge®. Let both plates dry. Flip one plate over and fill with dry beans or rice. Place the other plate on top and staple the sides together. Use a hole punch to punch holes around the rim. Tie rainbow ribbon or yarn in the holes. Now it's time to make music!

Cut out the inner circle of the paper plate using a craft knife (parents only). Paint or use markers to color the rim of the plate. Wrap various colors of the neon yarn around the plate and tie into knots. It may be easier for younger kids to punch holes around the plate rim and tie the yarn through the holes. We used pink baker's twine to tie on colorful feathers and thread star and heart beads. Punch three holes along the base of the dream catcher and tie your beaded strands to the holes. Hang near your bed at night and let this magical dream catcher send happy dreams your way!

Using the craft knife (parents only), cut out the inner circle of the paper plate. Have kids use the dip and dotters to paint the rim of their paper plate. Let the plate dry. Cut a square piece of clear contact paper slightly smaller than the paper plate. Peel and stick it to the back of the plate. You will want the bottom side of the rim facing up. Use the tissue paper confetti and cover the sticky contact paper. Leave no sticky parts uncovered. Punch a hole in the top of the paper plate and tie a ribbon. Hang your sun catcher in a bright window. They are so pretty to look at! The tissue paper works perfect for sun catchers.
