DIY Lacing Cards

The lacing cards take focus, introduce kids to shapes and are a beginner tutorial to your basic sewing stitch. To make you’ll want to begin by tracing the shapes using the stencils on the white card stock. Next, cut out each shape and hold punch around the outside rim of the shape. Finally, using the lacing yard, lace the yarn up through one hole and down the next. Repeat the pattern until you’ve laced the entire shape.

Pipe Cleaner Animals

Kids can create their very own pipe cleaner figurines! Ella and Annie made a cute puppy dog, snake, bunny and firefly. Making these pipe cleaner animals is pretty much the same process for each. To make each body, wind the chenille stem tightly around the body of a pencil. To add wings and legs, you simply bend and twist the chenille stems in the shape you want them. You can hot glue on the eyes and pom poms for the heads. The wire inside the chenille stem allows you to twist on the tail, legs or wings to attach it to the animal. Your kids will be engaged for hours making their furry friends!
