Easter Handprint Animal Crafts

Easter Handprint Animal Crafts

Transform tracings of your child's hands and feet into sweet Easter bunnies, chicks and lambs with a few simple materials. This handprint animal craft is a fun project to do with toddlers for spring or Easter. You can help them trace their hand onto black cardstock and add pom-poms to make a lamb. For a fluffy chick, trace your child's foot and hands onto yellow cardstock and then add feathers. A bunny can be made with a white handprint and the addition of a pom-pom nose and chenille stem whiskers.

Create a fluffy lamb by tracing your child's hand onto black cardstock. Trace and cut out. Position the tracing upside down on another piece of colorful cardstock. The four fingers are the legs of the lamb, and the thumb as the head. Glue white pom-poms to the lamb with craft glue for a soft wool coat. Add a small googly eye and tie a small bow from embroidery floss and glue to the lamb's neck.

Trace each of your child's hands and their shoe onto yellow cardstock and cut out. The shoe upside down will form the body of the chick, while the hands will be the wings for this Easter handprint craft. Cut out a pair of feet and a beak from orange cardstock. Glue yellow feathers onto the chick with craft glue and add a pair of googly eyes.

Paint the back of your child's hand with white tempera paint and a foam brush. Have them hold their thumb flat against their hand. Position their pointer and middle fingers together and their ring and pinky fingers together to form the bunny's ears. Press their handprint onto a pink piece of cardstock. Glue on two googly eyes, a pink pom-pom nose, and white chenille stems for whiskers. You can add a little smile with a marker if you like.
