This bulletin board is a great way to bring Earth Day writing and crafts into your classroom! Students will love seeing their work up on the board after learning more about Earth Day and the ways we can help our planet.
Earth Day is not only a meaningful topic to bring into the classroom, but it provides many fun and engaging activities to do with your students! An Earth Day themed bulletin board can be a fun way to showcase your students' writing and crafts. I love this board in particular because it is student-centered! This is important to me because it is relatable to my students and makes them proud of the work they have completed.
For this bulletin board I started with the Fadeless Art Natural Burlap Paper. This paper is so smooth and easy to use! I made this the background of the bulletin board. I then used the Fadeless Green Paper to create some hills for the bottom part. This was super simple to do. I took a pencil and outlined some curves and then cut it out. I used the white scalloped border around the edges.
Fun tip: You can easily add some tissue fans that match your board in the corners. This is a fun and easy way to add even more decoration to your board. The lime green and turquoise fans match this board perfectly. The easiest way to attach these is by using Mavalus Tape. This tape is magic! The fans stay in place so well after using this tape!
I wanted a fun and relatable title for this bulletin board. My students love anything with hashtags so I titled the board #loveourearth! The blue self-adhesive letters were perfect for this and so easy to use. I love how forgiving they are, even on the paper background, if I make a mistake and need to adjust them!
For the content of this board I wanted an academic piece as well as something fun my students could complete. I first had them do some writing with the prompt sheet "I can help the Earth by...". I made these two to a page so that I could fit more on the board. My students also colored and assembled Recycling Wheels. These were fun for them to see some other ways to help our earth after they did their writing piece.
