The Table
The table was layered in a black linen table cloth, topped with a red gossamer layer resting upon a rustic cobblestone style runner.
The Place Settings
Each place setting was designed with a red charger plate layered with a square black dinner plate topped with a blue square dinner plate and a red square dessert plate.
Each red square dessert plate was adorned with a dragon emblem.
To the right of the place setting sat red cutlery on a gray napkin which tied into the rest of our tablescape perfectly.
Also to the right sat a cup fit for a knight to sip on after battling dragons. A blue striped straw was added to match.
To the left sat a red favor pail filled with delicious blue candies and a ferocious dragon emblem.
The Centerpiece
We kept our centerpiece simple and delicious!
In the center of our table sat a knight's kingdom castle cupcake stand which displayed our dessert recipe, a Dragon Foot Cookie Cupcake. The adorable stand was the perfect way to display our tasty cookie-topped cupcakes.
Each cupcake was wrapped in a black and red cupcake collar and topped with a yummy chocolate-dipped cookie made to look like a fierce dragon foot.
Our tiny knights loved devouring these delicious sweets after a long day of dragon slaying.
To each side of the cupcake stand sat handcrafted dragon eggs made with wood egg cut outs that had been painted with watercolor. In the center of each dragon egg was a dragon emblem that coordinated with those on the place settings and other party details.
The Backdrop
We wanted our tiny knights to feel like they were enjoying a big celebratory feast after some serious dragon slaying, so a castle was the perfect setting for this event!
The walls were clad in rustic cobblestone table runners, greenery squares, armor and even torches!
The Dessert Buffet
The dessert buffet was dressed in a black linen tablecloth lined with red gossamer and a tassel garland.
A wood slat style sign was used as drawbridge inspiration and displayed more knightly beverages.
To each side of the drawbridge sat coordinating white cake stands displaying popcorn boxes filled with fluffy popcorn and blue candies. Each popcorn box had more dragon emblems on the front.
The dessert buffet also had a quick DIY tassel garland which was created by combining multiple colored garlands into one.
The Activities
We wanted to keep our knights busy in their down time from fighting off ferocious dragons. Kids got busy crafting their very own fierce dragon foes, DIY Party Dragons, using plenty of fun and adorable craft supplies including craft rolls, paint, streamers and more!
They also got crafty and made DIY Lucky Dragon Eyes using stones, paint, sequins and more!
