These CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) stretching word bands are the perfect way to practice blending and segmenting words! To create these stretching word bands, simply hot glue adhesive letters to Dr. Seuss™ Stretch Bookmarks! Students stretch out each elastic band, sound out the word, and then blend the word together as they unstretch the band.

One of my students' favorite books is The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss. After reading the book, have your students match each puzzle piece to its opposite. Challenge your students by having them come up with some of their own word pairs that are opposites.

The ability to read sight words quickly and effortlessly will greatly impact a child's reading success! This Dr. Seuss™ sight word memory match game is the perfect way to review sight words with your students. Simply write your sight words onto Dr. Seuss™ the Cat in The Hat™ Bulletin Board Cutouts. Be sure that you make two cutouts for each sight word in order to make a pair. Place the cutouts in a pocket chart with the sight word hidden. Have your students take turns picking two cutouts and saying the sight words. If they find a pair, they get to keep the set. If not, they place it back in the pocket chart. Keep playing until all the sight words have been correctly paired.
